If you haven't been out back lately, you can "sorta" start to get the picture out there now ... shady and airy when the sun's up high, cozy and quaint in the evenings, and the most absolutely stunning sunsets daily.

We'll just let it snow in from here out, there's plenty of time to think about all of that. 🙂

Nov 1st ... the day you wake up in Star Valley and realize, it's just US for a while! And at Dads, the staff looks forward to this day every year, we've been runnin' real hard since mid May.

As for Martha and I, we got to finally enjoy our first "busy season" together for the first time in nearly 10 yrs of ownin' Dads. 10 yrs in June, who'da ever thunk it? To our GM Aaron, Chef Damon, and the entire staff ... our love and appreciation for you all runs deeper than any of you may know. It ain't easy doin' what we do around here, we more than know that as owners. But the real truth is ... you guys do it way better than we ever did, thank you! ❤️

I ain't much into bein' "retrospective" a lot, I tend to keep my eyes forward ... but when I look back at where we started and where we're at now, it's pretty amazing, even I shake my head at it a bit. I spent a few times thinkin' about that this past summer as I admired the crew in action on a busy night. But with watchin' it all, another thought started creepin' into my head ... have we gotten a little too big for our britches around here?

We've already been discussing that around here for over a month now, how we're gonna do it better next year ... with more ease, less hurry in our step, more attentiveness, more personable ... I used to tell people who walked in without a reservation on a busy night, "Nope! Sorry, we're full." I never had a problem with sayin' it, even to a good friend! But it's rare that Aaron or anyone on this staff will say that to a walk in these days, somehow they find a way to accomodate them ... but the question we've been askin' ourselves lately is, if we're gonna keep doin' it, "How do we wear it well"?

We'll be closed today, along with Tues, and will reopen business as usual on Wed next week. Not because we're all worn out, frazzled, ready to kill one another, and need a break (like other years! 😆) ... but to get the place back in "tidy" shape, reorganize our storage/office to better do our jobs, and gather up. Because everything that's been spoke of up above goes into action next week servin' some of our most important and favorite folks around ... YOU!

The biggest HAUNTED H***Y TONK PARTY in the valley is on at Dads TONIGHT! Matthew and the Hope kick it off on the stage at 7:30pm followed by Kista and the 307 Dance Hall crew droppin' out the dancefloor for the rest of the night until close! Lights, lasers, disco ball, fog, and that big PA thumpin'! $200 to the best costume and another $200 for whoever works that costume best! $6 Devil's Margaritas all night from our friends at Proximo Spirits and lotsa great swag to giveaway from our vendors too! Happy Halloween Star Valley, keep it responsible with your good time tonight, and we'll see you at Dads!

It's gonna be a great weekend with Matthew and the Hope returning to our stage FRI & SAT NIGHT AT 7:30PM! And it'll be a "Haunted H***y Tonk Party" after the band Sat night with Krista and the 307 Dance Hall crew out on the dancefloor! $200 goes to best costume and another $200 goes to who works that costume best! Lotsa giveaways from our vendors too! See you at Dads!!!

It's Wed and that means STEAK!!! at Dads! It's all waitin' for you and Chef Damon offers a Burrata Pesto Ravioli Special for $16.95 that was quite the hit yesterday! It's also our Italian Wedding Soup this week! It's "WILD WEDNESDAY" TONIGHT AT 7:30PM with the 307 Dance Hall crew on the dancefloor! Matthew and the Hope from Salt Lake City returns to our stage FRI AND SAT NIGHT AT 7:30PM!!! And the biggest "HAUNTED HONK TONK HALLOWEEN PARTY" in the valley! Krista and the 307 DANCE HALL crew take the party over after the band plays with a $200 costume contest and $200 to who works that contest best! Lotsa merch giveaways from our vendors too! It's been a busy October for us with a Hunters Ball every Fri night for the past three weeks in a row. We'd like to thank YOU first and foremost for buyin' raffle tickets every week, to our GM Aaron and the barstaff goin' the extra mile sellin' raffle tickets weekly when it involved no tip, Wyoming Gun Fighter up in Alpine, our many vendors who loaded us up with great merch, and the talented folks who took our stage through it all. Thank you.

$1520.00 goes to our LOCAL Thayne WY EMS for their LOCAL use only! (and if anyone can share a contact name to us, we'd really love to give it to 'em!)

$3,610.00 has been raised over the past two weeks going to our local Thayne Community Food Bank for this upcomin' winter.

We chose to give these folks the proceeds this year because these two areas lack the proper funding these days, and both deserve better for their services to our community. Our li'l town of Thayne, WYO is important to us here at Dads, you might even can say we hold a responsibilty to be so. Afterall, stewardship is a pretty big word around here.

Nobody has a more givin' heart than the folks across our great state of Wyoming, and nobody likes a gun raffle any better either! Thank you all for being a part of it again this year, we done a real good thing together. ❤️
