UGA Football Barn Sign DAWGNATION,

These two small towns have produced many successful football players for UGA, most notably Hershel Walker. In 2000 the season opened with Quincy Carter as our starting QB. For those that remember, Quincy soon became a train wreck. After the World’s Largest Cocktail Party in Jacksonville, we decided to voice our opinion of our QB status. While discussing how we would materialize our thoughts, a close relative joked that we should paint the side of the old ‘Jot Em Down Store’ which had been in his family since the late 1930's. (Side Note: There are a few stores with this name, but this one is local to the area and probably not as known as other landmarks with the same name.) We quickly accepted his offer and aimed to paint the south side of the store’s exterior in order for all the traffic to view as they headed back to the northern part of the state on Sunday following the game. The night after the game, we painted the old store. That year was an election year and the basis of our message. Cory soon became our starting QB. Cory’s most recognized game was against our arch rival Georgia Tech. Cory completed 36 of 62 passes for 413 yds. These stats are currently ranked: 1st (tie with Eric Zier) for most completions in a UGA game; 2nd for most attempts in a UGA game; 8th for most passing yds in a UGA game. The old store soon came to be locally known as the “UGA Barn Sign”. The first message was such a success that we continued to use the old store to voice our opinions. We always aim to stay positive, though a few messages have voiced frustration. The only ‘non-UGA’ related message was after 9/11. It’s hard to believe how quickly the many messages have come to pass. We plan to continue painting the Barn Sign for years to come. Over the years we’ve seen people taking pictures of the messages or having their picture taken in front of it, especially during the week of the Florida game. We’ve seen paintings and heard of others. There are supposedly even restaurants around the state with pictures of the Barn Sign hanging on their walls and people who have it hanging on their living room walls. We would love to see pictures of these items old and new! Please post pictures you’ve taken, drawings, paintings, or any other media that everyone may enjoy viewing! We know the Barn Sign is very popular and would like to see ‘all things related’ to the Barn Sign pinned to this page! GO DAWGS!

Gunner gave himself a stinger on the first play they say. A concussion didn’t make sense to me because he went down face first, and you can see his head/neck compress into the ground. If you’ve played, you know the feeling. For those that don’t, it’s a compression of the neck area that will agitate a nerve and it feels about like hitting the “funny bone” in your elbow, except it is in your neck.

Gunner said it didn’t affect his performance.

At the end of the day, last night is just a game. But this right here, this is what matters in life. Praying for others, trusting God and keeping faith.

NO TUMOR FOLKS! It didn’t magically disappear, it was RX’ed by The Great Physician! Makes my eyes sweat! Praise be to God! 🙏🏼🙌🏼

So happy for David, his “Babydoll” and their children.

I have some genuine questions because I truly want to know:

- Who do position coaches report to?
- Who is in charge of the off/def practice scheduling?
- Who schemes Sunday to Friday to find opponent weaknesses?
- Who identifies in-game opportunities for the off/def to be sure the best play is selected for that opponent weakness?
- Who determines that weakness are observed accurately and schemed against effectively prior to the game and in-game?
- Who teaches player ex*****on?
- Who guarantees we practice enough of the schemed ex*****on during the week needed for the game package to be successful?
- Who makes sure the right players are in the game for the right plays and situations?
- Who mentality prepares the players so they execute effectively mentally?
- Who designs our pregame preparation on gameday?

I guess we only have coaches on Sat’s. None during the week.

What happened to all those national leading 45+ PPG?

20 against Bama
24 against Auburn

Oh but our OC scores 40+ blah blah blah. He’s been stat padding in Athens for decades.

No one is cheering for him harder than me, mind ya.

Anyone have an idea why our stout RB room only had 113 yds rushing today against the 52nd ranked rush defense? They had the 33rd ranked passing defense and we threw the ball 37 times and ran it 28 times.

Was this a case of overthinking that Auburn was going to line up to beat the run so we were gonna fake them out with passing more?

Gunner running into Bobo and fumbling was the perfect reflection of how we played today - we couldn’t get out of our own way.

Today is what the other conferences can’t seem to grasp. Three of the arguably best SEC teams got beat today (UGA, Texas, Bama) by SEC teams, because of hangovers from last weekend in SEC matchups.

Kirby knows it and preaches it - Humility is one week away in the SEC. Doesn’t matter the opponent.

Our goals are still intact. Hunkerdown Dawgs.

Make no mistake, Georgia beat Georgia. Auburn gets credit for it. 54 game home winning streak vs unranked teams broken.

Plenty of blame to go around. Goodnight.

Wow…..
