Just thought I would check in and wish you all a Happy New Year and a prosperous 2016

I wanted to also start to collect some memories from you all just any little anecdotes funny sad problems complaints just little stories of our bar so I can put them together and perhaps put together a little NAcho Mamas memory book . Ok chaps , been a week now and still finding it hard to pass my little bar without shedding some tears but I just wanted to say a final thank you to everyone who has been a part of our bar for the last five years and to all of you for helping us be the little bar that we were . I think it is hard to find many bars whose clientele were so diverse , so different and yet it didnt matter because it was a melting pot for culture , age , ethnicity, opinion ,music , comedy et al. I dont really know why but it just kind of worked and was comfortable , a place where debates took place but with humor not malice ,where new friends and old friends mingled and sometimes I just marvelled at the lack of animosity and the camaraderie of people who , one would think would never get along , but they just did .And it wasnt down to anything that we as owners did , it just seemed to work out that way .Dont get me wrong we have had a few kerfuffles(love that word) along the way but for the most part , harmony was never far away , opinions came and went and democracy and free speech reigned supreme and the only raised voices were usually in the kitchen when I ran out of wine or patience or both !!. Anyways you have all been fab but it would be remiss of me not to thank the folks that helped us especially in the last year when times were kind of tough and who stuck with us through thick and thin . So thank you Roni , best margarita maker in the land whose patience with my timekeeping was truly that of a saint , to Eric ,my rock always steadfast and calm until 2.10 am on a friday, then he was Attila the hun , to Lorraine , patient funny but dont give her beer until she has finished clearing up , Tony and Felicia not known by many cos they couldnt quite ever get to the bar till after 2am but boy did they kick ass getting the bar clean once they got there , and dealing with whatever had broken that day , to Rene always there for whatever needed doing , you name it Rene would help with it , just never give him a blow torch and a bubble in the bar , to Ramon and Shelly and Joey and James , always supporting us always promoting us always our friends (especially when 1800 around )
to our Tejano bands , Barrio ,Los Sociales ,Unstoppables ,Conjunta , Tony Tavena , to Appa and Karaoke always calm always laid back and forever mon ami or is that ma ami with his gorgeous family and to Annika , now kicking ass I am sure in Memphis , to Kevin and Q for Open Mike , to the Names from a Hat guys and gals bringing Improv on a Sunday and inspiring my son to join an Improv group also ,to James and Rosemary helping where they could with promoting and bar tending and whatever was needed , to Marty and Robbie , always there with ideas , Jennifer and Mark bringing in parties ,ideas , making movies , Kaysi and Steve ,catering ,weddings having faith enough in us to entrust their wedding catering to us , to Nicki the poet with the words to inspire and the hugs to calm the stress in a second , to Sincere ,funniest man and what a voice ,and Dax (we miss you dax) Ken , Andrew , Re*****on , Joe ,Sam and Christine and if I have forgotten anyone I am sorry but have so many memories going through my mind and heart right now and last but by no means least in fact first and foremost our wonderful steadfast customers who have been the reason Steve and I put one foot in front of the other to you our customers we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love , your patience your support and your money (of course) without you we wouldnt have had the bar that we did and the memories that we have and I am just so sorry that we could not have continued to keep our little bar going any longer but leases etc were not under our control and so to all of you a million thanks , its been a blast , its very sad but this is not necessarily good bye but au revoir until we meet again

And for all you wonderful McMammas out there yes that means all you ladies , I will be hosting a little soiree of nachos and nibbles at my mansion (ha ha ) next Friday December19th , so message me for more info please and guys we will have a little guys and gals soiree in the new year .Have a great Xmas and lets hope the New Year brings happiness and good fortune to everyone especially me cos I am selfish that way Maureen and Steve

Ok chaps , it is with a very heavy heart that I want to let you know that Nacho Mamas will be closing on Sunday . There may be a possibility of opening at a new location at a later date but not in the forseeable future. Several issues have played into our decision to close but primarily it falls back on a decision not to renew our lease. So I want to thank all of you for being our customers and becoming our friends and we have met some truly wonderful people who have supported us and helped us and for that we thank you . I like to think in return we gave something back ,our little bar was not the most glamorous of venues nor the classiest but it has a heart and a comfortable demeanour to relax and unwind . It was not an easy decision to close the bar and personally many a tear has fallen and many a bottle of wine has been opened to get us to this decision . We will be open this evening from 6pm , kids karaoke then regular karaoke , we will be having the sale of the century this evening , lots of drink specials and we may even sell some Nachos memorabilia to take home a piece of the bar as it were . Cash rules supreme this evening boys and girls , and we will be discounting more heavily the checks paid in cash cos as you know cash is king . So we are open today from 6pm to close and with Karaoke with Appa , and tomorrow from 10 am to close with football and then we will have our friend Ramon Matus dj us through the rest of the day and into the we small hours playing basically anything you want to hear . So come down and say farewell and pass the message along to those not on facebook lets have a couple of days to have fun and enjoy our little bar .And once again thank you each and every one of you , so many wonderful people and such good memories Love you
