Cheers! 🥃 Today marks one of our proudest moments so far at The Taylor House. We officially passed our health and fire inspections and received our liquor license!

The news you’ve all been waiting for is finally here! We met with the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (KY ABC) today, and everything is moving forward exactly as planned. If all goes well, we will be seeing you very soon! 🥂

Are you passionate about craft cocktails, great bourbon, and creating an experience guests won’t forget?

The Taylor House in Taylor Mill, Kentucky is looking for talented bartenders to join our team!

We’re looking for someone who brings personality behind the bar, takes pride in their craft, and knows that great hospitality is just as important as what’s in the glass.

What you’ll be doing:
🥃 Crafting quality cocktails and drinks with consistency and attention to detail
🥃 Sharing your bourbon knowledge and helping guests discover something they’ll love
🥃 Creating genuine connections with guests and delivering outstanding service
🥃 Keeping the bar clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service
🥃 Preparing garnishes and maintaining an inviting bar presentation
🥃 Handling cash and credit transactions accurately
🥃 Practicing responsible alcohol service and knowing when to refuse service
🥃 Working closely with the entire team to keep service running smoothly
🥃 Following all health, sanitation, safety, and responsible-service standards
🥃 Helping with opening and closing responsibilities

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has at least 1 year of bartending experience
• Has strong craft cocktail and bartending skills
• Is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about bourbon and craft cocktails
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Brings a positive, professional attitude to every shift
• Is dependable and works well as part of a team
• Is available for evenings, weekends, and late-night shifts
• Is of legal drinking age
• Can safely lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on their feet throughout a shift

The Taylor House Mug Club

In 1795, Jacob Fowler and William Smith built a saw and grist mill along Banklick Creek. A community grew around that mill, and over the years, the story of the mill became part of the story of Taylor Mill.

In 1810, James Taylor Jr. purchased the property and mill, forever connecting the Taylor name to this piece of local history.

More than two centuries later, we want to carry that same spirit forward at The Taylor House — creating a place where neighbors, friends, families, and regulars can come together, share a drink, and feel like they belong.

That’s why we created The 1795 Society — The Taylor House Mug Club.

And we’re making ONLY 100 MUGS.

🏇 A LITTLE SNEAK PEEK AT WHAT’S COMING TO THE TAYLOR HOUSE…

Long before The Taylor House was here, just down the hill was a place where the crowds gathered, the horses thundered, and racing history was made.

Old Latonia Race Track opened in 1883 and became one of the country’s premier racing venues. The grand old track drew some of the greatest horses, jockeys, and racing fans of its time, with the legendary Latonia Derby becoming its signature race. After more than five decades of racing, the track held its final race in 1939.

That history is part of what inspired our Lunch at Old Latonia menu. We’re bringing a little of that racing spirit back to the neighborhood — one plate at a time.

UPDATE: THE TAYLOR HOUSE

Progress is continuing at The Taylor House, and it’s exciting to see things beginning to take shape. Each visit brings another step forward as the work continues toward bringing this project together.

And, in today’s very important construction update, we even managed to catch an appearance by (myself) Josh on film.

More updates to come as we continue to watch this project take shape. Stay tuned!
