If you’re wanting to eat with us one (or three) more times, this weekend is your chance.

The list of people that helped us along the way is long, so we’ll spare you the pageantry in an Instagram post. Know that we appreciate every one of you & are thankful for the time we had here on Florida Ave.

We came into this in 2018 trying to make the plant based food we wanted to see when most of the Bay Area restaurants hadn’t come around to it yet. Y’all proved we weren’t alone and we had a wild time keeping up with you. Tampa 2025 is a very different place in a lot of ways, but that includes an awful lot of omnivore spots that now take their plant based offerings a lot more seriously than they did in 2018.

We leave our post confident that you all have plenty of good food to still eat around here. Remember to take care of those plant based spots we still have too. Little independent spots have had a rough few years braving this new version of Tampa and it’s not getting easier. Where you choose to spend your money truly makes a difference.

Please give a big thanks to our crew when you pass through this weekend. They’ve been rolling with all of this as best as we could have asked, and hung on all the way as this comes to and end. We hear they’re accepting gratitude in the form of cash money if you want to drop some love on them. They earned it. You can also keep an eye out for & Taco Dale events when they’re out in the world still feeding you.

As far as ? They’ll still be here after this weekend as they make their own transition. Keep an eye out for their plans as well.

An awful lot of you have come through this week and the words of support have been overwhelming. We’re doing our best to keep up & appreciate all of it.

Today is also the Final Krampus, so we’ve got a little treat for you. These Snak Wraps are battered chick’n with lettuce & tomato + ranch wrapped in a flour tortilla. Simple & delicious.

Photos with the Goat of the Hour start at 2 and end at 5, so make sure and come then if you want a forever souvenir. You guys think Krampus looks a lot like the bass player from Leftover Crack?

Graphics & sweet Krampus shirts by the bud . Chris did all of our graphics for the first years & even handed you your bag in the window for a while when the world shut down. Stoked he’s back with us here at the end.

We’re open now until 9, so you’ve got all day to come by for some food. Remember we’re operating with a few less hands than ideal as we slow things down, so we thank you for your patience as we get everyone taken care of.

Not sure how to best say this, but as Jug & Bottle moves on, December will also mark the end of our time here on Florida Ave.

Many of our food & beverage peers, plant based or not, have vocalized a downturn in these last couple years; and we are no exception. Combine that with the end of Jug’s time here (as we know it) on Florida Ave + the economic demands of our own lives and it all signs point to us winding things down as well.

All of this comes with an assortment of emotions, but the strongest one is gratitude for the community we operated within that supported us these last 6 years. It was all of you lining up around the block for a fake chicken sandwich that pushed us into Jug, running a line to the door every night once we opened up. Even when a pandemic took that from us you continued to deal with remote ordering & obnoxious food delivery fees through all of it. Thank you for that.

We made an agreement with Jug & Bottle to rehab & use the kitchen in the back of their store in 2018. After choosing a plant based diet in our own lives we started making & sharing the kind of food we wanted to eat. We soon learned that a lot of you shared in our enthusiasm & things took off pretty quickly after that.

Of course, a little over a year after we opened, the world shut down & handed all of us challenges we had no plan for. Though that feels like a lifetime ago in some ways, the long term effects from that are still echoing through this industry and our economy as a whole.

As we roll back here we’re going to do our best to accommodate y’all until it’s over. We’ll keep the menu as is as long as we can, but will of course be running out of everything by the end. We also have a few employees left that need to move on themselves, so we plan to do the best we can with what hands we have as we all transition into what’s next. (Continued in comments) ⬇️

Just a heads up that we’ll be closing this Thursday, but to make it up to you we’re opening up today & tomorrow with some limited holiday bonus hours from 12-6pm!

To sweeten the deal you know we had to bust out a Teddy Turqey sandwich for you. It’s a hoagie roll stuffed with sliced seitan turqey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, French fries & gravy & it’s what most everyone we know is eating for lunch today.

Our guys in the kitchen volunteered to come in on their down days & feed everyone, so throw them a high five when you come by. We hope to see you!

This weekend we’re playing around with these chopped cheese sandwiches + tots/fries. They’re a hoagie roll stuffed with chopped beef & cheez sauce with lettuce + tomato & burger spread. Get your tots or fries hooked up the same way and prove you’re not scared.

Our website is being a jerk again, so it may be a moment before it’s online. But we have them. We promise. Just phone it in or come order one at the counter. Lots of people ordered food before the Internet. You can too!

We’re open until 9 today and ready to start choppin’. Come through!

Back to business as usual around here today.

Thank you again for everyone who came out to support Dale and his taco menu. Y’all sold him out by 8 last night & that was what we were hoping for. Seems like you liked it as much as we did.

Jug will have the buds from + Gaijin here on November 12 bringing a Japanese convenience store menu with ramen + katsu & more. will have lots of sake to wash it all down with too. Ramen and sake? Sounds like a plan.

Back at it again today with Dale’s takeover of our kitchen. Y’all crushed him last night so let’s do it again.

He’ll be set up at 4 and going until 9 or he runs out of food.

Just as any pop up, we won’t have this in our online store so you have to come order from the man himself.

Today & tomorrow!

When we started closing Tuesday + Wednesday we thought it would be fun to invite friends & other pop-ups opportunities to use our space. A little special treat in the middle of the week.

First up we’re having our guy Dale here today & tomorrow, doing his vegan take on that fast food taco spot we all know. He’s been working with us in the kitchen for a while & has a lot of his own ideas he’s been wanting to share.

This is 100% the Dale show. His idea, his recipes & he’ll be in the window for high fives as well.

After spending our first year under a tent in parking lots, we learned how nice it is to have a roof & all our equipment set up & ready to go. We figured sharing our roof only makes sense. We hope y’all agree and come out to support another plant based idea the way y’all have supported us over the years.

He’ll be ready to go at 4 both days so let’s show him how hungry we are!

Remember these Mall Pandas? Well we’ve got a few laying around we’d like to make for you.

They’re one of our chick’n seitan patties battered + fried & tossed in that familiar orange glaze y’all love. Then topped with sesame seeds, sweet chili mayo & a scallion slaw on a burger bun. We already ate the one in the picture.

Our website is being goofy, but we swear we have them. Come order in person or over the phone to get one for now, but we should have them online soon.
