1920's MEN'S FASHION!

The essential part of a man's wardrobe in the 1920s was his suit. At this time, men wore suits everywhere! The three-piece suit with wide lapels and high rise cuffed trousers became incredibly popular in this decade. The suits were often patterned in stripes, plaid, tweed, or plain wool. And of course the Hats!!

The Speakeasies of the 1920's!

When Prohibition took effect on January 17, 1920, many thousands of formerly legal saloons across the country catering only to men closed down. People wanting to drink had to buy liquor from licensed druggists for “medicinal” purposes, clergymen for “religious” reasons or illegal sellers known as bootleggers. Another option was to enter private, unlicensed barrooms, nicknamed “speakeasies” for how low you had to speak the “password” to gain entry so as not to be overheard by law enforcement.

The Tampa Speakeasy Gala was inspired by a need to build relationships through the Practice of Brotherhood. It is hoped that this event will become an annual tradition for the Master Mason Association of Hillsborough County and bring Masons from around the state together for food, fun and frolic. The theme of our event will transport you back to the days of prohibition in the roaring 20's; the atmosphere will be electric and full of surprises throughout the night... But don't tell anyone... it's a secret!

The planning is still on-going and we will update information here as more details are finalized, but a few of the highlights will be:
