Pups Pub’s farewell party is this Saturday, June 7th, from noon to 11 PM. We’d love for all our friends—two-legged and four-legged—to come by, share some memories, and help us say goodbye. This community has meant everything to us, and we hope you’ll join us for one last celebration together.
Below is a list of FDOH representatives and the three judges responsible for Pups Pub’s closure. Below is a list of FDOH representatives and the three judges whose decisions led to the closure of Pups Pub. Before 2022, the DOH and inspectors across Florida interpreted the law to allow indoor dog bars, except for service dogs as outlined in Chapter 64E-11. Now, under the new interpretation by the FDOH & appellate court judges, the state has declared that dogs are prohibited from any indoor area that shares the same structure as the bar—even in spaces where no food or drinks are served. As this ruling is enforced, every dog bar in Florida operating under previously approved models now faces the same fate as Pups Pub. We also tried the political route reaching out to our local senator, Jay Collins (FL State Senator, District 14), for support. Despite being his constituents, as well as a veteran-owned small business, we were told this issue could not be a priority at this time. We Also reached out numerous times to the office of & the Lt. Gov but did not receive a response.
