Good morning Tally,
Tonight only, BB Karaoke wake. Come help us say goodbye to our home for the last 12 years. THE RESTAURANT WILL NOT BE MAKING FOOD TO ORDER. We will have a self serve chips, salsa and queso bar & Derrick and Dave will be slinging drinks at the outside bar . All this for only a $20 suggested cash donation. We will have a limited number of BB T-shirts available for a suggested donation of $25 each as well. If BB holds a special place in your heart, please feel free to come out and celebrate with us one last time.

Good Morning Tallahassee,
David Turknett from BB here. First, I would like to thank everyone for the concern, well wishes and love we have recieved. It softens the blow of ending this chapter quite a bit. For the sake of honesty and clarity, I would like to give a little more detail and context regarding our current situation. We will be closing Burrito Boarder. We had a great run but at this time we are unable to meet the challenges that face us running our restaurant in the area it is in, and in the current economic enviroment. Simply put, we had a rough season and as we were already heading into an unsure off season, then disaster hit at the worst time possible. Because of this, we ran out of money and had no way to refill the coffers in time to stay afloat. Many people have sent us links for emergency loans and while we appreciate the thought and intention behind it, going more into debt will not fix the problems we face and it would just be taking money from other businesses that could use it to keep going.
A few of our amazing employees have put together a Go Fund me campaign. We would like to point out that while we gave our nod of approval for this to happen, the funds raised are not for us. Any funds raised will be used to help our employees while they search for new employment. We will not be handling the money or taking any of it.
We love you all and thank you for an amazing 12 years.

Good morning Tallahassee,
Other than losing a family member, this is the hardest thing I have ever done so please bear with me.
First, we hope you all are safe and secure following last week’s storms. At BB we have always prided ourselves on operating with integrity and honesty. Right now, the honest truth is that we are finding a path forward to be elusive at best. This last season has been particulary rough for businesses on our side of town. Spending has been way down, the challeges that have arisen due to the rising homeless epidemic have increased and the financial burdens of the rising cost of goods, insurance, labor and utilities has been overwhelming. The storm could not have come at a worse time for us and now we have to figure out what to do. We set out twelve years ago to create a space filled with fun, fresh food and drinks with an atmosphere that is inclusive to all. We have built relationships with the colleges (special shout out to our friends at the FSU Campus Rec department, FSU Softball & of course the amazing Noles football team) and so many regular guests (Kurt, Ian, Doug, RC, & John S. just to name a few). We have teamed up with with some amazing entrepreneurs over the years (Tiffany, RJ the Creator & Anthony, You all rock!) and we have aligned our self with some great organizations over the years, many with the help and support of our good friend Brandy Vance. WE LOVE YOU ALL!
We are going to be closed over the next few days to try and figure out what the next step is and as soon as we have some idea what it is, we will let you all know.
