Would You Like To Be A Range Safety Officer At NBSC?

There is an NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Class scheduled for Saturday, December 13th , 2025 at the North Bristol Sportsman’s Club. The class will start at 9am and finish around 5pm

RSOs are volunteers who assure a safe shooting environment on the club’s ranges, as well as providing technical support as needed.

Most of the club’s RSOs volunteer to become part of a monthly schedule serving the rifle and pistol ranges. Other RSOs serve on the trap and s***t ranges, as needed. We serve both members and non-members, depending on the shooting activity and event. It’s good for the club and an enjoyable way to get to know a lot of people in a short period of time. The class fee is $125 and you will also be required to register with the NRA at the conclusion of the class. You will be required to pay a certification fee to “actually obtain” your RSO credentials.

If you become an RSO at North Bristol Sportsman’s Club, and are “on the RSO Schedule” volunteering at least one 4-hour shift, every-other-month, you will have an opportunity to have a portion of your RSO class fees reimbursed after 6 short months. If you want to get on the RSO Schedule for a shift every month, that is even better! If you would also like to help out with Rimfire Challenge, 3-Gun, Youth League, or Pistol League, that would be absolutely awesome!!

As a volunteer-driven club, NBSC relies on its members to provide a great customer experience for all of our members and also non-members. As such, if you are an “active-RSO” at NBSC, at your next NRA RSO renewal period, NBSC will reimburse you for your renewal fees.

This is a terrific opportunity to take another step in your fi****ms education and also an opportunity to help NBSC continue to be a great club.

Registration is available through a link on the NRA’s instructor web site at www.nrainstructors.org. If you have any additional questions, compliments, concerns, complaints, or to enroll in the Basic NRA RSO class, please don’t hesitate to contact Dale Molnar at [email protected].
