During one last check around midnight last night, we discovered that one of our mama cows had given birth. So, this baby got to spend the night in the utility room last night.

We’re still waiting on another mama cow to give birth, so Mauldin’s Cattle Motel might remain open through the next few nights. 🐮

Temperatures will be plummeting to dangerous levels in South Mississippi again this week. This had us reminiscing back to February 2021 when it was so cold that icicles were hanging on everything! This was also the year that we brought a newborn calf into our utility room during the night, so that it stood a chance at survival. As a farmer, the work never ends- no matter what the weather is.

Please pray for all the men and women, farmers, truck drivers, and first responders who will be working in these extreme conditions this week.
