heritage of his ancestral homeland of
Austria, Johannes von Trapp has built a
world class brewery on the grounds of his family’s lodge in the pristine mountains of Stowe, Vermont. Using trad

itional Austrian brewing techniques, our master brewer
creates pure, clean beer with amazingly
complex flavor profiles. Of course, everyone
says they use the finest ingredients and so
do we, but few can say they use their own natural resources. This beer is brewed on the grounds of the Trapp Family Lodge, using pure Vermont spring water from right here on our own property.

We teamed up with the crew at Other Half Brewing for a dry-hopped Pale Ale featuring Chinook, Centennial, and Nectaron hops. Expect grapefruit, orange peel, a touch of resin, fresh-baked bread, and a lightly dry, bitter finish.

Seen a bell tower on one of our beers or posters and wondered why?

The bell tower spire that appears throughout our branding is inspired by the first view that greets visitors arriving at the Von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort. It’s a familiar landmark, a welcoming sight, and a symbol of gemütlichkeit: the warmth, comfort, and hospitality that define the von Trapp experience.

When the original lodge was destroyed by fire in 1980, the bell was the only part of the tower to survive.

That’s why you’ll find it on every can we brew. A small reminder of where we come from and the traditions we’re proud to carry forward.
