You're lookin' like you could use a good time. A new experience, a new adventure. I can relate.

Today's world doesn't want you to go out and seek adventure. A technological world that wants you on your phone, on your tablet, on your computer. Scroll this, swipe here, view this reel, click that, follow me, like and share, subscribe. Click, click, click. "Be my puppet!" Everything's a conspiracy theory, everything's a debate, everything's an argument, everything's offensive. Anything to keep you online and giving them your attention. The outside world has access to you 24/7, the first time in human history, and it knows EVERYTHING about you. Every click is logged, every click gives you away.

Since my divorce some 14 years ago I made it a mission to be one of the last left that encourages people to just go out and have fun and experience life. But if I'm being honest, all I've mostly done is beat my head against the fn wall and now I have a headache. In some regards I'm a monumental failure. We just don't follow our hearts anymore, we follow programming and it's frightening. I miss my 80's peeps...

Pool isn't like social media, there's no instant gratification like stupid pet videos or getting 10 likes from posting what you had for dinner. In pool you still have to work for it. In pool there's no elected official telling you what your rights are, there's no Pastor telling you what you have to believe in, there's no "influencer" telling you what you're offended by today, there's only you, your ability and your creativity. Then you turn and see your team and you realize this is real, this is real life. There's nothing fake about them, they're here with you, win, lose or draw, they're here to have fun with you. No conspiracy theories, no debates, no arguments, just a real night out where literally anything can happen without the safety net of hiding behind a device. What a wonderful experience life can be when you let it. I don't know how else to put it...

We're in between BCA sessions right now so we're going to be doing a couple of Friday night chip tournaments this month.
These are open to anyone, no handicap, 5 chips. Bring a friend, a lover, a sibling, let's fill this up and have some fun!

Nothing scheduled for today and it's going to be nice out so I'm expecting a slowish day today. I'll be preoccupied between 3 and 5 but at your command after that. Do keep in mind it is September 12th, International no bra & panties day. Hey, don't yell at me, I don't make the rules, I just follow 'em.
I know there's people out there who've been "meaning to come in" and see what we're all about but keep making excuses. We're an old school pool hall. What we're al about is fun, putting a smile on your face, letting you put a smile on ours. We don't wear masks of righteousness or hide behind moral compasses and those who do, don't fit in well here. We're very loose, very real but if you've got a stick up your butt this isn't your place, go take your fake somewhere else. For everyone else, come on in, bring a friend, hell bring two and pass one around (sharing is caring) and let's get a dopamine spike!
On the business side...our summer leagues are coming to a close this month. Fall/Winter sessions will start up in October. We're offering 3 different leagues now (APA, BCA, Uni-League) so we've got something for everybody. Supporting these leagues is what keeps the lights on and coaxes us into signing another lease. They're only $10 per person per night, it's good cheap entertainment and the harassment comes with free refills! You get to play an good maintained equipment and our crowd of players has a great sense of humor.
Don't scroll your life away. The Covid lock down and social media has created a lazy excuse laden culture. I'm old school, I believe in effort and committing to something and going out and trying, and keep trying, and try some more. I live with the reality every day that this has become a Unicorn mentality but I won't conform. I am dedicated to enjoying the rest of my years and until they close that casket or light that fire I'm gonna have a good time and I'm gonna be real. You're welcome to join me, you just gotta make the decision and do it. Come and enjoy life.

Tonight is our final night of Summer session BCA. We're going to take a couple weeks off and start season 3 on October 2nd. We'll probably run this season to March. There will be one notable change, Molly is taking over as league operator, a privilege we paid for. So anything that comes up can be dealt with immediately and we won't be charging a league operator fee so you get more money back. More is always better, right?

So start getting a team together or replacing players who need time off. Friday's are certainly one of our most fun nights and we'd love to see it grow with more fun people. Not to mention, it's also fresh donut night! You can't miss that. Talk to your peeps and get signed up or come in solo and I'll find you a team, but do this asap please, we need time to get ourselves in the BCA software system.
