To the person who found our “I ❤️ Lock Haven” sign so "triggering" that you felt the need to destroy it: We’re truly sorry a piece of corrugated plastic caused you that much distress. It must be exhausting.
But instead of tearing it up, we’re inviting you to a conversation. In fact, come back, and I’ll personally buy you a ticket to a show. Our goal is to present something for everyone, from Annie to Fun Home.
However, you can tear up every sign we own, but it won’t change the DNA of our theatre. Millbrook Playhouse is, and always will be, a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, religion, or sexual identity.
A quick word of advice: I dare you to find any form of entertainment that isn't created by a diverse group of people. That is what makes art so interesting. If that triggers you, perhaps it's time to cancel your Netflix account.
As for the rest of us? We’ll be having a great time at the Playhouse because, as we always say, “Everyone is welcome at the Barn.”
