We’re heartbroken to share that we’ve lost one of the biggest hearts in the Central West End.

Alex, the creative soul behind Vino STL, passed away last night. If you’ve ever been to Vino, you’ve felt his presence in the art, the energy, the stories, and the love poured into every corner of this space.

For nearly 18 years, Vino has been part of the neighborhood. For Alex, it was never just a wine bar. It was his living room — a place where strangers became regulars, and regulars became family. And as we always said: “It’s a living room… just not your living room.”

Now, that phrase means something even deeper.
Because Alex will always be a part of our living room.
Of this place.
Of this community.
Of us.

We are grieving. We are holding one another close.
And we are holding space for anyone who loved him, whether you knew him for a night or a lifetime.

Please send thoughts, love, and light to his family, to our staff, and to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The world is dimmer without him, but his spark lives on in every story, every laugh, and every glass raised at Vino.

The rumors are true — Vino’s kitchen is BACK 🍷✨
You asked if we were bringing food back… and we did.

That tornado in late May? It hit us hard. Power outages, no Wi-Fi for weeks, canceled events, lost inventory — we were knocked down. But we didn’t stay down.

We’ve rebuilt, regrouped, and now we’re officially soft-launching our kitchen this Thursday, July 10 with a fresh, cozy starter menu — limited quantities, while supplies last.

This is just the beginning. Vino’s got momentum again, and if you’ve been waiting for a sign to come hang — this is it. Eat, sip, vibe, and witness the start of something bigger than ever.

✨ The glow-up is happening. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
