O'Connell's is closing. It's been a tough fight, but this economy was the final straw. WHEN we close is still up in the air.
We thought about doing a GoFundMe or making another loan to get us thru September. Business is way down for restaurants everywhere, and we simply couldn't afford to take this hit without a loan. But we have a plan that doesn't include begging for money from the public or from a third party.
The plan is to stay open until MARCH 17 and have one more hurrah on ST. PATRICK'S DAY. We can do that if you all come out and see us one more time before we go. Maybe you can come here a bunch! If you have gift cards, please bring them in and use them. We will stay open as long as we can with the absolute last day being Wednesday, March 17, 2027. We can only do that with your help.
We hope to see you at the pub a few more times before we have to close. The customers at O’Connell’s have been the absolute best. So many of you have been coming here for decades and you will be sorely missed in the future. Our staff has been incredible and done so much hard work to keep the place going thru some really tough days. The relationship that the staff and customers enjoy is truly unique in the business. There are no words that would adequately describe how special that is.
We are hoping to go down with some integrity and allow those who love the place to have some final moments here and then say goodbye to a storied institution that Jack Parker built.
Thank you to all who have supported O'Connell's Pub over the years. It's been a hell of a ride, but all good things must end. We are not alone as many old institutions are going under. We hope that we can handle this closure with some dignity.
