For centuries, the pineapple has been the universal symbol of hospitality — warmth, welcome, and friendship. In the 17th century, this rare fruit was so precious that simply serving one to a guest was the ultimate sign of generosity. Sea captains returning from the tropics would stake a pineapple on their fence post as an open invitation for neighbors to come in, share a meal, and enjoy good company.
