I closed on the sale of Montgomery's Steakhouse and farm ground today. The business has been part of my families life for 12 years. I am glad and thankful it was purchased by someone that will re-open it as a restaurant, and possibly more. It will be different driving by knowing that some else will own. In the end, it was a good business that employed great people.
I laughed at some of the posts from a select few that claimed to know what was going on or had insight on legal proceedings (it was a necessary means to an end). Those posts motivated me and family to continue to do the right thing.
Owning a business is difficult and not for the faint of heart, especially now. My last ask is to support the new owner, the area needs a restaurant and I am sure they will be successful. I know I plan to make the establishment my "go to" place once they are up and running.
I look forward to seeing many of you soon.
Lastly, Thank you to my closest friends (the bro night crew of 10) and work colleges who supported me over the last 6 months. That last bro night in July (after we closed) will be my lasting memory of what we built in Spiceland. Laughs, dancing, joking and "turning out the lights and locking up" was the perfect ending.
