On Monday we announced the unfortunate news that The Chairmen of the Board are unable to perform on Saturday, October 2nd, 8-10 pm in Crouse Park. We know many of you were looking forward to this show, but we must move on! We have decided that due to the timeframe and some other factors beyond our control, we will have only 1 band that night playing from 6-8 pm...But what a band they are! What is better than setting up your chair in the park to hear some of our own, kicking it back with songs from the 8o's and beyond!! Don't miss Dropkick Mullet performing on Saturday night in Crouse Park form 6-8 pm!! We KNOW you remember the words and that famous phone number "867-5309" and don't forget to come ready to "Rock and Roll all Night"!!! Or at least until 8!
It may be chilly after sunset, so bring a jacket! No coolers!! Tacos ,hotdogs, BBQ, hamburgers, bottled drinks and dessesrts will be on site.

We are very sad to inform you that we were notified this morning by The Chairmen of the Board that they will be unable to perform on Saturday, October 2nd, 8-10 pm at Music OFF Main in Crouse Park, Sparta. We are currently looking for a replacement band and will keep you posted! Dropkick Mullet will still perform from 6-8pm!! You don't want to miss taking a trip back to the 80s! We ask that you stay tuned as we are working hard to keep the music going until 10:00 pm.

*** THE CHAIRMEN OF THE BOARD PORTION OF THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED!!!****

We can't wait for this show! The Chairmen Of The Board are coming to Sparta on October 2nd to Crouse Park from 8:00 -10:00 pm. So really it is Music OFF Main! "With one of Soul Music's all-time great group names, the Chairmen of the Board has pleased music lovers for over 30 years"! First we will have local band Dropkick Mullet the most awesome 8o's Tribute band at 6:00 pm! Food will be available! You will need to bring a jacket or a blanket, and your own chair. No coolers allowed and you must follow Park and event rules. There will be NO activities on Main Street that night related to this event. The Alleghany Jubilee and some of our Main Street restaurants will be in full operation! We hope to see you at Crouse Park!!

A few "notes" regarding Music on Main, September 3rd. We ARE still having the event! Due to the nature of our event, in that we are not a gated venue, we are unable to mandate masks or verify vaccination status. We will have Covid-19 recommendations posted, handwashing stations, hand sanitizer, and masks will be available. Due to the recent mask mandates in schools, and due to the challenges our schools face, we will not provide children's activities (i.e. facepainting).

A few reminders!!! Sorry folks, but rules are necessary for the safety of others!

-Alcohol is NOT allowed on Main Street outside of the designated area! Nothing you say will change that. You are not allowed to carry your drinks out of restaurants onto Main Street. Some restaurants may have extended or designated areas, but you cannot go past that point with your bottle, can or cup.
-No coolers are allowed. If you bring one, it is subject to inspection by local law enforcement.
-No brown bagging is allowed.
-If you have a dog...they must be on a leash and PLEASE do not allow them to use the bathroom in the middle of the street.
-DO NOT leave your children unattended.
-No bicycles or scooters!
-And please DO NOT LITTER. We will have more than enough trashcans.
- If there is any type of incident, please report it to the onsite police officers or to an event staff member.

It will be a little chilly tomorrow night...when you are packing up your lawn chair, you may want to throw in a jacket or blanket!

The schedule for tomorrow night:
6-8 pm - local bands along Main Street at 's Country Store, Muddy Creek Cafe and Music Hall Sparta, Main Street Pizzeria & Taphouse, A Touch of Grace, Becca's Backwoods Bean, Alleghany Jubilee, and Laconia Ale Works
8:00 pm - Headliner band Abby Bryant & The Echoes on Main Street on the Courthouse lawn.

Our restaurants all along Main Street will be open and our stores will have extended hours!

We are super excited to welcome Abby Bryant & The Echoes to Sparta's Music on Main, Friday, September 3rd! Bring a chair and settle into an evening of vintage-inspired southern soul rock! Another successful Music on Main in the books! Thank you to all the businesses and vendors who partipated, to the Volunteers, Town of Sparta, Sparta Town Police and of course the local bands that joined in the fun!
