I'm just going to re-post what I shared on the Southport NC page so that we have it on our own page:
Forgive me for adding this to the thread, cuz I thought I saw us mentioned earlier, but now I cannot find the comments. I would like to just be transparent about what has been happening with The Shrimp Bowl Mini Bowling Bar & Grill. Someone mentioned we have not posted much on our page for almost 2 years (https://www.facebook.com/.../The-Shrimp-Bowl-Mini.../) & that we have been talking about The Shrimp Bowl coming to Southport/Oak Island for quite some time now. Those that have stayed in contact over the years know that for the past almost 2 years I kept mentioning that "life has thrown us a curveball" but we are still planning on opening. My wife Donna passed away this June after dealing with 1.5 year journey with cholangiocarcenoma. Forgive me, but our priorities just shifted during that timeframe & The Shrimp Bowl was basically at a standstill during that time. I was just in Southport/Oak Island this past August & took a look at the old CVS space & adjoining old Lowes Food store space for possible locations for The Shrimp Bowl. I do strongly believe that The Shrimp Bowl will be a viable business in Southport one day, but I must also wait for God's hands & direction now, so please be patient with me. Believe me, we totally get the small town charm of Southport & we don't want to create a Myrtle Beach glitzzy arcade or even a Planet Fun multi-entertainment center. If that's what you like, then they are just down the road. The Shrimp Bowl will be a gathering place for the community with old-fashioned fun in the form of mini bowling along with great food & drink...so that families & friends from little ones to seniors can spend time together...to bond...and to connect. Isn't that what the area is all about? Isn't that why tourists come to the area? Isn't that why you live there? We WILL eventually become a part of your community, but please be patient with me.
