Official Announcement:

After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to press pause on the Riverlights Music Festival. While we’re filled with joy seeing the personal growth in our team members and the new paths so many of our committee members have forged over the last few years, our organization is short of the bandwidth and resources required to responsibly produce the sustainable, accessible, and inclusive family-friendly festival that we’ve experienced together over the years.

The Riverlights organization will remain intact as a rallying point for the future efforts of our wonderful committee members and volunteers. However, the annual Riverlights Music Festival will not be actively continued at this time. If you are interested in joining the Riverlights organization or connecting to any of the amazing community organizations in our area that provide high-quality, family-friendly cultural entertainment, please reach out to us!

Our work with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra has come to fruition! We partnered to create an immersive audio project called “Octet”. It is on exhibit at the South Bend Museum of Art through the remainder of this year. We are very proud to be involved in this innovative project and look forward to future endeavors with our new community partners. Enjoy this video created by the incomparable Chuck Fry.

COVID-19 UPDATE

To our attendees, vendors, artists, community partners, sponsors, and team members:

After much consideration, we have decided to postpone the Riverlights Music Festival, which was scheduled to take place on June 5 and 6, 2020. This was a very difficult decision, but given the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the only realistic option. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected by this pandemic. In these difficult times, we will do our part to ensure the protection of public health while also helping our community recover.

There is so much work and planning that goes into our music festival. Our team was excited about this year’s new location of Howard Park and the experience enhancements that we had planned. Rest assured that this excitement will carry on into the next phase of Riverlights Music Festival planning. Because of the uncertainty of the current pandemic, it is unclear at this time just how and when we will return. While we have hopes of having an event within this calendar year, we will almost certainly be back in 2021. In the meantime, the talented and generous members of the Riverlights team will be exploring new and creative ways to help support our local artist community. Please keep an eye on our social media platforms for new announcements as we move forward.

South Bend is a town that knows something about perseverance. The Riverlights Music Festival team will be a proud partner in its recovery. Today the rule is social distancing, but there will come a time when normality will resume and we will be free to enjoy live music on warm summer days. Until then, please stay safe and be healthy.

Please consider donating to our Indiegogo campaign. Originally the proceeds were to be used for festival funding, however in light of the current crisis, all proceeds will go to local area musicians in desperate need of support.

To everyone in our beloved community. Our heart goes out to each and every person affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. During these challenging times it is difficult to imagine sunny days filled with live music, great food, friendly faces, and laughing children. Those of us on the the Riverlights team are looking forward to better days.

In the coming weeks we will be following the situation very closely and adjusting our festival plans as necessary. We pledge to do our part to ensure public safety and support our local art and food communities. Please stay tuned to our social media platforms for festival announcements and news.
