Valley stands in solidarity with protestors in Minneapolis and across the country who are fighting bravely for our civil rights. Everyone is afforded the right to constitutional protections per the founding documents of this nation, as well as the full dignity of the human experience per the values of a just humanity.
We support all businesses and individuals on strike tomorrow. We fundamentally believe economic boycotts are the cornerstone of resistance to the historic systems of supremacy and violence - fully visible at the moment to all who wish to see.
All businesses are not created equal, and we support everyone’s decisions to fight and make waves how they can - to both close their doors to hit the streets, and to hold space for the revolution. We will be open for business tomorrow, but it will not be business as usual — we ask our guests to please pay in cash. This one-day experiment (for now) serves as a physical gesture in circumventing a bit of the corporate apparatus that hijacks our economic agency. Our businesses are strategically organized to subvert and circumvent many of the injustices that affect labor and Mother Earth, but this current lash of state violence reminds us that we too need to better audit our practices to better defend against tyranny and repression. We will be redirecting funds from the day to Sonoma Immigrant Services as well as directly to the legal aid of a young Minnesotan detained today by ICE.
We are also proud to celebrate immigrants and Chinese ancestry tomorrow night with winemakers and , an auspiciously timed event in honor of our Hidden Valley menu. History favors dominance, not justice, and we are committed to amplifying - not silencing - the voices of the forgotten laborers who built Sonoma, as well as fighting for the rights and experience of those who continue this legacy.
