In September of 2016, the Davis Square Theatre reemerged as "The Rockwell," continuing its legacy of providing a home for the region’s flourishing arts community in honor of its late owner, Somerville business leader and restaurateur Ken Kelly (The Independent, Foundry on Elm, Saloon, Brass Union, River Bar). The new incarnation of the playhouse includes the name dedication, an updated look, equip

ment upgrades and original programming curated by the theater. The Rockwell continues to host a wide range of programming from children’s interests to national comedy headlines to burlesque performances. The theater also welcomes local acts and offers the space to patrons, organizations, theatrical companies, and comedians at affordable rates.

Step into the good old days and laugh your way through them. Comedian Charles McBee takes the stage for a full hour of sharp, warm, and wildly funny stand-up about love, life, and everything that made the 1900s... well, the 1900s.

If you’ve ever eaten a microwave dinner on a folding tray table, feared getting caught in a game of freeze tag, or lived through dial-up internet, Charles has a joke for you.

This November… TC Squared Theatre Company presents: “The Commute”.

Four strangers are trapped in a tunnel during a sudden stop on the Red Line. As tension builds, they are forced to confront each other-and themselves. The Commute is a dark, thought provoking new comedy by Karin Anell, exploring human behavior under pressure. Who are we really, behind our masks?

The evening show will be followed by an interactive talk-back and panel discussing the evolving role of technology in our lives.

Join candi carpenter and Moselle 👾 for an evening of indie and alternative pop music celebrating Candi’s latest EP, Biblically Accurate Angel, and Moselle’s forthcoming album, Gargoyle.

Through powerhouse vocals and fearless storytelling, both artists explore themes of toxic religion, trauma, identity, and self-discovery with equal parts vulnerability, humor, and heart.
