In September of 2016, the Davis Square Theatre reemerged as "The Rockwell," continuing its legacy of providing a home for the region’s flourishing arts community in honor of its late owner, Somerville business leader and restaurateur Ken Kelly (The Independent, Foundry on Elm, Saloon, Brass Union, River Bar). The new incarnation of the playhouse includes the name dedication, an updated look, equip

ment upgrades and original programming curated by the theater. The Rockwell continues to host a wide range of programming from children’s interests to national comedy headlines to burlesque performances. The theater also welcomes local acts and offers the space to patrons, organizations, theatrical companies, and comedians at affordable rates.

OH LOOK! HERE COMES THE MILDEST MAN IMAGINABLE.
 
Paulette stumbles into a room full of the most strangers he’s ever seen, and he doesn’t know whether to panic or mingle—so he does both, for 60 minutes. Sporting a brown sweater and a hot-off-the-fist black eye, he dares to address the room armed with nothing but an arsenal of pleasantries and a monumental fear of rejection.
 
Hot off of a high octane tour of Europe, the UK, and even the east coast of America, certified clown Daniel Maseda brings well-mannered idiot Paulette back to The Rockwell for the very second time with this fan-favorite show that never plays out the same way twice. A perfect evening for anyone who wants to scream at a polite person.

Ismar Volić is a Professor of Mathematics and Director of the Institute for Mathematics and Democracy at Wellesley College. His research spans topology and social choice theory, and he has authored numerous articles and books, including the prize-winning Making Democracy Count: How Mathematics Improves Voting, Electoral Maps, and Representation.
