Marine Veteran Richard Casper led a distinguished military career that saw him stand guard beside George W. Bush, survive an IED blast, and earn a Purple Heart for his efforts.

However, Casper’s incredible commitment to service hasn’t stopped there, as he founded the non-profit CreatiVets — an organization dedicated to helping veterans foster self-expression through the creative arts.

We’re immensely proud to announce Richard Casper as the latest recipient of the Be Cowboy Award.

Resilience. Selflessness. Courage.

These are the qualities shared by the latest Be Cowboy Award recipients, longtime-friends Kylie Walton and Janey Lee.

While off-road driving in the Baja desert in preparation for the San Felipe 250, their vehicle burst into flames. Without regard for her own safety, Kylie risked her life to help Janey free herself from the wreckage.

Since then, the two have displayed incredible tenacity on their roads to recovery from severe burn injuries.

Horse Soldier and PBR are proud to recognize their remarkable bravery with this honor.

The latest Be a Cowboy Award Recipient, Mercy Ameyaw Aston, embodies a commitment to serving others that is truly remarkable.

In her highly decorated military career as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, Mercy received two Bronze Stars and a Meritorious Service Medal before retiring in 2019 following combat-related injuries.

And yet, Mercy has continued to serve others, playing a key role in raising $1.2 million for non-profit organizations in her current position as the Co-Chair of the national Veterans Inclusion Network (Valor) at Raymond James.

We’re proud to recognize Mercy for all of her many accomplishments across her extraordinary career.
