You know when you’re just bursting with gratitude and joy, and the words simply don’t appear?

That’s how this last week felt here at the shop.

We painted together, spent time with family, and enjoyed a few very luxe treats. We clinked glasses with old friends and new—some from very faraway lands. Friends and neighbors popped in just to say hello, to check on us, and to see if we needed anything.

So many connections were made. So many friendships forged simply by showing up and supporting one another.

It is truly spectacular.

Thank you. Thank you. A million thank yous.

I’m looking forward to another incredible week, and I simply couldn’t do it without all of you. I hope you can feel just how grateful I am.

🥖✨ A little something delicious just landed at Faire La Nouba.

We’re now carrying artisan sourdough baguettes + salted chocolate chip cookies from The Flourist!

Because sometimes you need a beautiful bottle of wine, a crusty baguette, and a really excellent cookie. And sometimes you need all three. We don't make the rules. 😉

Perfect for a picnic, a charcuterie situation, dinner tonight, or simply treating yourself because you’re worth the good bread.

🎨🍷 TOMORROW NIGHT: PAINT YOUR NUMBER AT FAIRE LA NOUBA!

Need a little midweek whimsy? Come paint, sip, chat, and make something you’ll actually want to take home. There are still a small handful of painting kits left.

No artistic talent required. Seriously. None. 😂

Just order your kit, grab a glass of wine, settle in, and let the evening unfold. We’ll provide the supplies, the inspiration, and probably a little encouragement when your painting starts looking suspiciously unlike the example.

I hereby declare Smithville, Texas, the Official Capital of Whimsy & Wonder.

And frankly, the evidence is overwhelming.

First: Smitty's Small Town Wonders Small Town Wonders Bookshop opens TODAY! 📚✨ Go wander. Go wonder. Write. Read. Get lost for a little while. Stay a bit. We’re thrilled to welcome this charming new gem to town!

Then: wander on over to Faire La Nouba, where the whimsy is getting slightly out of hand.

We’ve got hedgehogs. Mushrooms. Birds wearing flower hats. 🦔🍄🐦🌸

And honestly, who doesn’t need a glass of bubbly and a pair of cast iron snail bookends in their life?

Exactly.

Come spend the day in Smithville being delightfully impractical. Wander. Wonder. Sip. Shop. Celebrate.

I KNOW. WE’RE ALL MELTING. 🫠🔥

At this point, if you’re still functioning like a normal person, congratulations. I’m not sure how you’re doing it.

What you may need in your life is a BIG OL’ GLASS OF ICED TEA. And, because we believe in you, Faire La Nouba just stocked some ridiculous new flavors from Magic Hour.

Horchata Chai. Blueberry Cheesecake. Lemon Meringue. Mango. Pineapple Vanilla Bean.

Your humble glass of iced tea just got a glow-up, a personality transplant, and possibly a trust fund. 🧊✨

We’ve also partnered with a specialty botanical brand made for beautiful disasters: charmingly named Hatchet Granny.

(I may resemble that remark.)

It’s NA, botanical, and delightfully interesting. Although a few people who have tried it have suggested that it might be even more interesting with a splash of vodka from the freezer.

We neither confirm nor deny. Do you. 😏

And if alcohol is, in fact, the only thing standing between you and a dramatic August exit, we have a brand-new Texas rosé from Soto Vino called Desert Rose.

It is officially my new favorite, which is a bold statement because I take these things very seriously. 🌵🌹🍷

So come see us this weekend.

Get out of the heat. Get into the AC. Try something weird. Drink something delicious. Linger awhile. Make a new friend.

Because if we have to survive the last days of August, we might as well do it with good beverages and questionable decisions.

📚 Book Club Update

We’re going to give this month’s Book & Bottle Club a little rain check. Since our RSVP list is looking a bit… fictional, we’re going to cancel this month’s gathering (originally scheduled for next Tuesday, 8/25) rather than have our book club consist of one very lonely bottle of wine. 😂🍷

We’ll be back with another book, another bottle, and hopefully a few more humans around the table! I've already got some ideas on how we can incorporate the Rebel School of Wine into our everyday celebrations and wine learning.

Thanks for understanding—and keep reading (and drinking) in the meantime. ❤️

Y'all may have seen the recent Good Morning America's segment on Wildwood Chocolate's Berry Berry bar as best bougie snack of 2026. The gals say it is also perfect for a hostess gift. You can get this gorgeous treat at our shop at the counter. Only the best for Smithville!

My sweet and talented friend Esther Maria Swaty helped me smash up the place and then put it back together with intention, whimsy, and a true "live it up" vibe. 🥂💓

We also got some charming new games, cards, colored pencils, and a few other goodies to help you pass the last of our Texas summer months happy and healthy. 🎲♣️🎨
