Don't forget to join us for the Barney Fun Run this coming Saturday! Doors open at 10am and we run at 11. To the bravest out there, don't forget to bring a towel to jump in the lake after!
This years recipient is Anna (Hastings) Calhoun. She is bravely battling stage 3 breast cancer while receiving two types of chemotherapy and radiation. She is facing a very long treatment plan. Anna has lived in Door County most of her life. She is the daughter of Bob Hastings and Madeline Allyn. Anna graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1995 and then attended UW-Eau Claire where she graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. In 1999 she returned here to raise her family in the community she loves. She currently serves the County working in mental health full-time for Health and Human Services in Sturgeon Bay. Anna is married to Jon Calhoun and together they have six children. Anna’s daughter, Ava, lives in Sturgeon Bay and owns A Plus Horsemanship, training horses for a living. Her son, Jackson, is in the United States Marine Corps. Anna’s husband, Jon, is the newest member of Management at the Sister Bay Piggly Wiggly.
Please help us pay forward the generosity Anna has shown to others throughout her life. As her friends will tell you, she has always put others first and has struggled to ask for help now when she needs it most. Let's rally and show up for her. In Door County no one fights alone.
