Every bottle has a story. This one begins with Ella.

Ella Marie Ommen was Henry P.’s wife, and together they expanded the BlackFork farming operation into South Dakota in 1951.

Her name now lives on through Ella Vodka, a nod to the people and history that helped shape BlackFork Farms generations ago.

Fittingly, the name Ella is often associated with “beautiful light.”

There’s a reason the pronghorn has a place on our wall.

The story of BlackFork Farms begins on the prairie, with the 400-acre BlackFork Land & Cattle Company and the American pronghorn that once roamed the surrounding grasslands.

Often called an antelope, the American pronghorn is actually something entirely its own. And its most recognizable feature inspired our name: black horns, each marked by a distinctive small fork.

Known for their incredible speed, sharp vision, and love of wide-open spaces, pronghorn have even earned the nickname “Ghosts of the Prairie.”

For us, it’s more than a name. It’s a connection to the land, its history, and the place BlackFork calls home.
