❤️❤️❤️I Loving Memory❤️❤️❤️
Three years ago today, July 7, 2022
Shari Tobi Schultz, 74 years young, passed away peacefully in her adopted hometown of Simi Valley, California, with her son, Marc, by her side. Shari was born in Hollywood, California, attended Temple Beth Hillel in North Hollywood and graduated from Hollywood High School at the age of 16. She worked full-time at the insurance company Joseph & Associates while attending college. Shari’s first marriage was blessed with her only child, Marc. Years later, Shari was introduced to her second husband of 47 years, Wayne Schultz, who legally adopted Marc. They moved from Los Angeles to Simi Valley, seeking a better place to raise their son. Shari’s success at Joseph & Assoc. came to an end when the company closed its doors. She decided on a career change and headed in a “New Direction”. Combining her creativity, love of the entertainment industry, and a passion for helping others, she partnered with her long-time friend and New Directions Event Planning was born. They produced celebrations for international companies as well as parties for private clients. She was in her 32nd year as President of New Directions and still planning weddings, bar mitzvahs, corporate events, and Concert in the Courtyard at the time of her passing. Shari’s legacy also includes her commitment and involvement to many organizations and non-profit groups, volunteering her time to help others and the Simi Valley community. She held multiple positions on various Boards of Directors and was President of the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley & Moorpark, WINS International, Simi Valley Days, and the Simi Trade Fair. She was a founding member and President of Congregation B’nai Emet as well as its Sisterhood, and very involved with Soroptimist Simi Valley. She was honored to be chosen as the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce “Businessperson of the Year” in 2002 as well as Adventist Health Simi Valley’s “Woman of the Year” in 2018. Shari always believed in giving back to the community and her generosity was endless. Shari will be greatly missed by family, friends and the community who enjoyed her fiery personality, loving heart, keen sense of humor, boundless energy, and profound enthusiasm for life. Many will cherish memories of joining Shari at Dodger games, theater shows, holiday dinners, game nights, and backyard pool parties. She was a true force of nature and woman of valor.
We at New Directions Event Planning a division of BDK Events LLC. dba Concerts in the Courtyard thank her for her faith in us to carry on her legacy, traditions, and support and love of the Simi Valley community.
