Suffolk County Parks Department

The Smith Point Campground will be closed for the season as of November 1, 2016, as the Parks Department will be hosting the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County's Holiday Lightshow this year. In lieu of Smith Point Campground, the Indian Island Campground will be open 7 days/week while Smith Point is closed.

The Outer Beach at Smith Point has just opened for day tripping and fishing. There is currently no Outer Beach camping at Smith Point until further notice. For up-to-date conditions please call the Park Office at (631)852-1315.

2014 Camping Season Reservation System Update

January 16, 2014

Dear Campers,

We deeply apologize for the problems that many of you experienced as we attempted to open the 2014 camping reservation system on January 15th. The vendor has isolated and repaired this issue. We have rescheduled the implementation date and will reopen the system on Tuesday, January 28th at 7:00 pm.

In an effort to communicate more efficiently with our customers, we will no longer be sending out emails. For future announcements, we will be posting information on our webpage at www.suffolkcountyny.gov/parks, as well as our page at http://www.facebook.com/suffolkcountyparks or twitter at http://www.twitter.com/scparks.
