In the summer of 1983, McMenamins opened its first pub. We had no idea then that it would unleash a whirlwind of beer, fun, music and so, so much more. 43 years later, our taps are still flowing, the Grateful Dead is still bumping and the party isn't over yet!

This Saturday, we're celebrating 43 amazing, trippy, beer-filled years with a day of specials across the land and a just-for-fun Passport stamp. Join us and raise a glass to where we've been and where we're headed next.

New on the menu and already causing problems (the good kind), Hopscotch Peanut Butter Pie is here! 🍫🥜✨

Peanut butter mousse on a chocolate cookie crust, finished with dark chocolate ganache, plus butterscotch and chocolate sauces, whipped cream, and chocolate crisp pearls… yes, it really showed up like that.

It’s rich, it’s messy in the best way, and it fully understands that “just one bite” was never going to be realistic.

Meet Jack. Jack’s been coming by since the doors first opened 30 years ago, and somewhere along the way, he started leaving a signature behind: coaster houses. 🏗️🍺

Carefully stacked, surprisingly sturdy, and getting a little more ambitious every time. At one point, he built one so tall it reached the wine glasses hanging above him.

We’ve seen a lot over the years… but Jack’s coaster architecture is still in a league of its own.

Sherwood Pub: home of the original "McMenamins drive-thru". 🚗💨

Many years ago, a guest accidentally put her car in drive instead of reverse… and drove straight through the front of the pub.

And honestly? She left behind more than memories.

The grill from the car still hangs in the pub today as a little piece of Sherwood history. Possibly our most committed customer entrance of all time. ✨
