🎉❤️ We’re kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating local educators who are helping students feel seen, supported and proud of who they are.
At Forest City-Dunbar Elementary, Silvia Adame-Sanchez and Jessica Muñoz Cope are doing exactly that — bringing their own heritage, experiences and heart into the classroom while helping shape the next generation.
Silvia, a lifelong Rutherford County resident with family roots in Michoacán, Mexico, (like us 🥰) recently returned home after graduating from Western Carolina University to begin her teaching career. She hopes her students see that where they come from should never limit where they can go.
Jessica proudly carries her Honduran heritage through her father and the stories and traditions passed down through her family. As an educator, she wants every child she meets to feel loved, respected and encouraged to embrace the culture that makes them unique.
