Ladies and Gentleman:
This is very unlike myself and my business, but I would like to share a very unfortunate experience regarding a recent wedding.
I need to share why it is SO IMPORTANT to have a Coordinator who is competent and has experience.
We messaged the wedding coordinator the day before the wedding to ask a quick question for clarification and the Coordinator responded with “I am not responsible for anything bar related.”
Understood. However, we didn’t need her to be responsible—it was merely a logistical question.
So, we had a dark cloud over our heads (literally and metaphorically) regarding working with this Coordinator.
Well, she took care of that for us, because she never made contact on the day—with any of the vendors. Vendors had to make executive decisions and adapt without any guidance from the Coordinator. The couple had written an itinerary which was clearly ignored, and no vendor received it.
There was no rain plan (guests and staff were absolutely drenched and uncomfortable), the venue was not set up as the brides wanted, and the night just ended up being tense and frustrating with NO HELP from the main contact of the evening.
Unfortunately, we could tell how sad and angry the newlyweds were and no one deserves that on the biggest day of their life.
Please, hire a Coordinator with experience and reviews. They are 100% worth it.
