Thank you Vanishing Seattle aka Cynthia Brothers for a touching Re-bar tribute tonight at Joketeller's Union at Clock Out Lounge. We/ Re-bar didn't really get to say goodbye in 2020 due to the lockdown, so it was touching and we got some nostalgiac closure this evening.

Opened in 1990, this iconic Seattle venue hosted underground music, fringe theater, poetry slams, game shows, LGBTQIA / QPOC focused events, live shows, and private events. From Nirvana to Peanut Butter Wolf, from Riz Rollins to Max Cooper, and from Hedwig to Dina Martina, the Re-bar presented the cutting edge of raw art in Seattle. Music. Theater. Dancing. Re-bar welcomed: All Races, All Abilities, All Genders, All Spiritual Beliefs, All Nationalities, All Loving Beings In May 2020, Re-bar announced that we would not be reopening after the government mandated closure of nightclubs and theaters due to effects on the business from the Covid 19 virus lockdown. We hope to reopen some time in 2021 on Seattle’s South Side.
