Announcing the lineup for our Annual Chili Cookoff at the Junction Harvest Fest on Sunday, October 25th from 11am until the chili runs our (usually by 12:30pm-ish) in the lobby of ArtsWest. Come taste a flight of 9 delicious chilis by Can Bar Seattle, Easy Street Records, Elliott Bay Brewing Co. , Husky Deli, the Neighborhood, Papa Tony's Hot Sauce, Shadowland, and The Westy Sports and Spirits, and vote for your favorite to crown this year's winner. Awards presentation on the center stage as soon as votes are tallied.

✨ More Maker Bars are coming to The Neighborhood! ✨

If you joined us for our last pop-up with The Works Seattle, you know how fun it is to get crafty with your neighbors! If you’re new here, The Works brings people together through hands-on classes in crafting, food, and botanicals — a chance to unwind, get creative, and try something new. They’re making their way to West Seattle, and while they work on their new home, they’re popping up around town. We’re excited to host THREE more creative evenings!

🎃 Monday, October 19 | 5–7pm — Cemeterrariums!

Create a spooky mini terrarium filled with Halloween favorites like skulls, bones, ghosts, spiders, and more!

🌸 Monday, November 9 | 5–7pm — Floating Floralscapes!

Create a botanical art piece with real pressed flowers in a floating glass frame. Choose a mini or full-size design and take home a beautiful nature-inspired keepsake.

🏠 Monday, December 7 | 5–7pm — Painting Holiday Houses!

Pick your holiday house and deck it out with paint, markers, glitter, ribbon, sequins, and more. The more festive, the better! ✨

🧀 And of course, there will be snacks!

What’s better than crafting? Crafting with a snack! Our kitchen will be open, and we’ll have charcuterie cups from Charcuterie by Annalise available. Order from our menu during the event or add a charcuterie cup to your order in advance to make sure we save one for you!

📍 All classes take place at The Neighborhood. Come solo or bring a friend — no experience necessary, just come ready to have some fun!

🇩🇪 A little taste of Germany has arrived at The Neighborhood. 🇩🇪

For the remainder of the year, we’re taking a little trip to Germany with a brand-new feature menu filled with cozy, hearty, delicious German comfort food. 🇩🇪🍴

Here’s what we’re cooking up:
🥔 Kartoffelpuffer — a golden, crispy German Russet potato pancake served with warm, sweet-tart Apfelmus (applesauce) and cool, creamy Sauerrahm (sour cream).
🥣 Kartoffelsuppe — a rich, comforting German potato soup loaded with smoky bacon, tender potatoes, carrots, celery, leeks and onions, all simmered in chicken stock with fragrant marjoram.
🍽️ Jägerschnitzel — a crispy, golden-breaded pork loin served with buttery housemade Spätzle, tender braised Rotkohl (red cabbage) and savory gravy.
🍒 Black Forest Cake — rich chocolate cake layered with luscious Kirsch cherry compote and clouds of whipped cream cheese frosting.

Basically, we’re leaning all the way into crispy, creamy, savory, rich, cozy and downright delicious. 🇩🇪❤️

German features are here for the remainder of the year, so come hungry and come get a taste of Germany right here in West Seattle.

❤️ Next Wednesday, September 30th, we’re giving back to our neighbors.

Join us at The Neighborhood from 3–9pm for our next fundraiser, with 15% of ALL sales — food, drinks & takeout included — donated to the West Seattle Food Bank.

The West Seattle Food Bank works to make sure our neighbors have access to the essentials of life — from food and clothing to housing and other basic needs. Their work is rooted in compassion, dignity, collaboration, and the belief that we’re stronger when we take care of each other.

And that’s exactly what these fundraisers are about for us: neighbors helping neighbors. ❤️

So come grab dinner, have a drink, pick up some takeout, bring the family, meet up with friends — whatever brings you through our doors. A portion of your tab will go right back into our community.

Earlier this week, we celebrated Jenny’s birthday with a pretty special surprise. ❤️

This painting of The Neighborhood was created by local artist (and very good friend of mine!) Carrie Scroggins, Carrie Scroggins . I had been wanting to see this place captured on canvas, and Carrie absolutely nailed it. She somehow managed to capture not just the building, but the feeling of this little restaurant and everything that happens inside it.

And naturally… Jenny cried. 😂 Which, honestly, was the entire goal.

We’re so lucky to have Jenny at the heart of this place, and I hope this painting always reminds her of just how much love, hard work and heart she’s put into The Neighborhood.

And Carrie — thank you for making something so incredibly beautiful; your talent knows no bounds. 🎨❤️

Our health inspector stopped by, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, we received a FOOD SAFETY RATING OF EXCELLENT! 👏👏👏

We already knew our team was pretty damn good, but it’s always nice when the official folks agree. 😉

Huge shoutout to our kitchen team for the care, attention, and pride they put into what happens behind the scenes every single day. We’re proud of you! ❤️

🥉 BRONZE IN BEST NEW RESTAURANT! 🥉

Well, this is pretty darn special — and we may or may not be doing a little happy dance in the kitchen. 🥹 We’re so excited and incredibly grateful to share that The Neighborhood has been named a Bronze winner for Best New Restaurant in the Seattle Times’ Best in the Pacific Northwest awards!

To our West Seattle community and everyone who has walked through our doors, ordered takeout, shared a post, brought a friend, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines — thank you. Your support, encouragement, and love have lifted us up in more ways than you know. Every visit, kind word, and pizza-fueled celebration means the world to us. We truly wouldn’t be here without you. ❤️

And to our incredible team: this honor belongs to you, too. The long days, the crazy busy nights, the hard work, the creativity, the care, and the countless little things you do to make The Neighborhood what it is — we see it, we appreciate it, and we couldn’t be prouder of you. You make the magic happen, even when the dish pit is full and someone needs “just one more” pizza.

✨ A little crafty happy hour, coming right up. ✨

We’re excited to welcome The Works Seattle to The Neighborhood for a special pop-up Maker Bar! 💕 And even more exciting… they’re bringing their Charm Bar with them.

The Works is in the process of moving to West Seattle, and while they put the finishing touches on their new home, they’re popping up around town — giving us all a chance to get a little creative in the meantime.

On Monday, September 14th, from 5–7pm, come make something that’s completely you. Choose a bag charm, bracelet, or necklace, then mix and match from a whole collection of charms and beads to create your own one-of-a-kind piece. Make something for yourself, or make a handmade gift for someone you love.

And because crafting is better with snacks… 👀 We’ll have charcuterie cups from Charcuterie by Annalise available for purchase, or you can add one to your order ahead of time to make sure we save one for you. 🧀✨

No experience necessary. Everything is provided. Just drop in, grab a drink, get creative, and spend a couple hours making something fun with your neighbors.

As Kimi fans, watching him celebrate his Monza win by eating spaghetti straight out of that trophy might be one of our favorite things ever.

Honestly, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate.
Our version comes in a slightly more practical bowl: spaghetti tossed in a bright, savory marinara, with garlic, fresh basil & Grana Padano. 🍝

No Monza trophy required. Just really good spaghetti and a reason to celebrate.
