Black & Tan Hall is a cooperatively owned performance venue and restaurant that centers local artists, serves food that nourishes the soul, and offers event space. Established as a worker-owned cooperative, we are maintaining Rainier Valley as a destination for cross cultural arts and education events. With a stage, event space, and restaurant that is both affordable and profitable, the Black & Tan Hall will create multiple income streams for its investors while celebrating the history of Seattle with concerts and classes. Utilizing the skills and talents of Seattle artists and teachers, the Black & Tan Hall will be open for business morning, noon and night with all-ages events that draw in the diverse communities of the Rainier Valley. With income from beer and wine sales, food, classes, and live music events, the business will turn a profit while its administration operates through consensus-based decision making.

Join us next Saturday (Sept 19th) for Dangerous Rhythms Live, featuring TJ English, and the launch of the Black Market Book Club. The evening brings together Seattle musicians and book lovers to move the music off the page and onto the stage. Performers include Pike Place legend James Young, Elnah Jordan, jaycatesofficial, and Pike Place magician Mr Unity. Showtime at 8pm. Restaurant and bar until 11pm. Ticket link in bio.

TJ will be signing books and enjoying coffee and conversation with the public earlier in the day as he celebrates the release of his new book Blood in The Desert. This pre-funk for Danger Rhythms Live is at Chin Music Press in the Down Under at Pike Place Market at noon on Sept 19th. Additional neighboring shops like BLMF, Jessica Nessica Cafe Davina, Holy Cow Records, and Our Fabric Stash are also welcoming TJ English, so don't miss this opportunity to explore and support local businesses!
