Old Log Cabin

Old Log Cabin Seattle based distillery carrying on the legacy of Old Log Cabin Bourbon Whiskey We got a great reception, so we started searching for a building in Seattle.

Batch 206 began life in Oregon at House Spirits in 2009. “We wanted to know what a small craft distillery could do” says Steichen, “We formulated our gin and vodka with them and marketed the brands for about two years to see if it would work. What we found is perfect for what we need: an urban footprint, front and back loading doors, parking for customers, close to our supporters.” In March of 201

2, all production was moved to our new 8,000 square foot facility located in the heart of Seattle, WA. Out of more than 130 licensed distilleries in the state of Washington, we are one of the top 5 production facilities in the state. Batch 206 Distillery is a true small batch artisan facility. We produce our products on a 1,000 liter, handmade German Kothe still. You can find our products in 20 states nationally and internationally in Singapore, Hong Kong and parts of Canada. Our brands currently include:
• Barrel Rested ‘Old Tom’ Counter Gin (Gold Medal, 2015 American Craft Spirits Association)
• Counter Gin (91 points, “One of 11 Must Try American Gins”, Wine Enthusiast, July 2014)

• See 7 Stars Moonshine, 100 Proof Original and 90 Proof Flavors Apple Pie, Cherry Pie and Peach Pie

While Batch 206 Distillery brands are enjoying success in many markets and will continue to be a substantial part of our portfolio in the future, we have also been barreling our unique style of Bourbon since we opened our doors 3 years ago. Look for it’s release in the fall of 2015!

History that shaped the Northwest: the smugglers, the hidden coves, and the rebellious spirit that still lingers today.
Seattle’s Prohibition era had its own underground soundtrack. The station most associated with Seattle bootlegging lore was KFQX radio station, created in 1924 by Seattle bootlegging king Roy Olmstead and inventor Al Hubbard. A station surrounded by stories, whispers, and Prohibition folklore.

According to Seattle legend, Olmstead’s wife Elise Olmstead hosted bedtime-story broadcasts as “Aunt Vivian” that carried coded messages letting rum-runners know when the coast was clear. True or myth? Historians still debate it. But one thing’s certain: during Prohibition, Seattle knew how to keep a secret. KFQX later evolved into what became KOMO.

Throw Back Thursday! This advertisement from Ohio shows the Old Log Cabin bourbon whiskey brand owned and marketed by the former liquor conglomerate National Distillers Products Corporation, a company that emerged from the old “Whiskey Trust” reorganizations of the early 1900s.

The brand under this ownership was active by at least the 1930s and became more widely advertised after the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. National Distillers marketed Old Log Cabin as a “Straight Bourbon Whiskey,” often using rustic frontier imagery from cabins, woodsmen, snow trails, and pioneer themes to emphasize traditional American bourbon heritage.

And it pairs beautifully with a Batch 206 Vodka martini. Make it dirty or give it a twist. $2 off all drinks during happy hour as well 4-6pm Wednesdays through Friday.

Cheers!

Step back with us to just after Prohibition ended in April 1934. This vintage ad from Economic Machinery Company proudly featured an Old Log Cabin Whiskey bottle to showcase their labeling equipment. Even then, our bottle stood as a symbol of quality worth putting front and center.

Old Log Cabin Whiskey traces its roots to the 1840s, when E.G. Booze first began distilling what would become a national legend. Through the decades, Old Log Cabin has seen many iterations of its label, each reflecting the style and spirit of its time, yet always bearing the mark of its beginnings.

Here’s to history in every detail and every pour. 🥃

How many Pacific Northwest animals and flora can you spot? 👀🌲🦦 This isn’t just a label, it’s a story

Take a closer look at our Counter Gin label and see how many creatures you can identify—from hidden forest dwellers to iconic regional wildlife. There’s more to discover every time you pick up the bottle. Don’t forget to turn the bottle around as there is more waiting to be discovered on the back of the label.

Designed by renowned Northwest artist the artwork is a vibrant tribute to the landscapes, city culture, and biodiversity of the Pacific Northwest. Every detail was thoughtfully illustrated by hand. Creating depth, texture, and a one-of-a-kind experience.

And inside the bottle? Just as much character.

Counter Gin is a “New American” gin. Expect bright juniper layered with crisp cucumber, complemented by citrus notes of lemon and orange peel, and rounded out with herbal hints like tarragon, verbena, and lavender. The result is fresh, complex, and incredibly versatile. Perfect in a cocktail or simply with tonic.
