It's the most wonderful time of the year!

While we're not back open yet, we hope you're all as excited for this football season as we are!

We also wanted to let our Bears fans know how much we miss you! If you're feeling displaced and lost without a place to watch your games, we recommend checking out The Lodge in Greenwood. A group of our Bears fans will be meeting up there for games until we reopen and we know they'll welcome more fans, friends, and Chicagoans into their group!

To our friends, family, and fans:

Now that Guild 45th has closed for renovations there's been even more speculation about the fate of our little corner of Wallyhood Paradise. We want to take this moment to give you a clear reassurance; The Iron Bull will reopen!

Given our abrupt closure, we understand how it's easy to believe that we won't return, but please trust that we will and that we're doing everything in our power to do so as soon as possible! It takes time to do things the right way, especially when you're dealing with a building as old as ours, and we want to make sure that when we reopen our doors we are the best possible Iron Bull we can be for our staff and our patrons! Our closure is lasting longer than any of us anticipated, but sometimes time is price of doing a good job.

We apologize for not giving more frequent updates on the status of the bar, but we want to make sure when we give updates that we can give something more concrete, so if you hear radio silence for a bit, don't lose heart! We're just a bit more focused on getting ourselves ready for you so you can watch your games in the best sports bar, play pinball and pool in the best game bar, eat delicious food in your favorite restaurant, drink fantastic drinks in your favorite watering hole, and enjoy the company of our wonderful staff in our home away from home.

As many of you may have noticed, we've had to temporarily close our doors. We're working on some repairs so that we can better serve you in the future. Unfortunately though, this means that our regular events like trivia, karaoke, and the pinball tournament have been canceled. We'll also not be able to show this weekend's UFC fight.

We love and miss all of our customers, our family, so in the meantime, check out some of our other neighborhood bars! We promise you'll find someone to commiserate with over the temporary loss of your nightly game of pool, pinball, or Big Buck (even if it is just their bartender or one of us grabbing a drink).

Last night's happiness and revelry ended and today began as a day filled with tragedy, heartbreak, and tears for the people of Orlando, our family and friends in the LGBTQ community, and for all of humanity. The tears might not stop, but our love and support definitely won't stop.

To all that feel this tragedy or any other fear, discrimination, or hate, we are here with you. If you need a hand to hold, an ear to hear, a hug, or a shoulder to cry on, we are here with you. If you need a safe space, a place of refuge, we are here with you.

We will not stand for bigotry, homophobia, racism, sexism, or any other form of hateful rhetoric in our establishment. We are family, all of us, and we will defend and protect your right to live in peace and without fear in anyway we know how.
