Years ago I had a dream that One day Pete and I would live at the beach.i never thought it would come true but everyone should have a dream! We worked two jobs most of our lives but sometimes if felt like three or four! We never lived above our means. We never financed anything except cars or our home purchase! Never paid finance charges on credit cards! We purchased our home for $17,000
& never made improvements unless we had the money for them first! Yes we took vacations but we planned and saved for them. For 20 years we stayed on Ocean city for $60 a night. The rooms and bathrooms were small but thatās not what we were there for. Jason always took a friend but we all squeezed in the room. Life isnāt about things you own or how much stuff you have. Itās about the memories you make along the way. Pete and I decided to live our lives that way. We were married 30 years before we remodeled our living room and bathroom. It just wasnāt important to us! We didnāt care about having new cars as long as the ones that we had got us where we were going! We were glad to not have car payments all the time and we paid our house of years ago so we could live our lives instead of making payments! We have they same cars we bought in 2003 & 2009.
Lifeās for living not what possessions we have.
All the years I worked at the club we were accused of stealing because we went on vacations. I guess Pete and I are the only people who go on vacation! We didnāt spend money on ci******es and I didnāt drink for over 25 years. I never had had time for family or friends because the club consumed much of my free time! I was tense all day every day with all of the responsibilities. I got up at 3 a.m. and went to bed at eight. Pete and I gave everything we had to the club but apparently it wasnāt enough for some people! They decided it was time to get rid of Pete so they could have control. He would have dropped anything at anytime to help someone at the club. He loved the members and the club like it was his own. It
Broke my heart when they didnāt care about his
Dedication and decided to throw him away like trash. I guess that was their plan all along. Get rid of Pete so they could have control! I thought I would be upset leaving after 41 years but Instead I feel like I got my life back. Itās no longer 24/7 club! Recently my Moms sister passed Away and I called her other sister to talk
To her and she told me someone to my cousin Kim (her daughter) that Pete and I moved away because we robbed the club. My Mom started
At the club in the late 1960ās. The club was $20,000 in the hole. My Mom went around to other bars and bought the patrons drinks with her own money trying to build up the clubs business. I never stole from the club because I care what you might think of us. I would be ashamed of myself for taking what didnāt belong to me after my Mom built the club back up. I think more of myself than to steal and what GOD would think about that. How would any of you know what a thief is when the thieves are all right under your noses and none of you seem to care! V.G. Told a friend of mine that that they only ever owed the club $2,000
And they paid that back. That is a lie! The original IOU was for $13,000 which was taken from a safe when Pete and I were on vacation. When Pete asked R. G. Why he said you gotta do what you gotta do. FYI nothing was ever missing until V.G. Lost her job at the legion so what is that telling you??? when they hit the big four for over $10,000 they did repay $2,000 but that was it. The IOU stands at $9,100
Which will never be repaid. I told Pete one day to get the IOU out of the safe so I could copy it because it was going to disappear and one month later it did. That proves he never had any intention of repaying the money. So do you all believe that if this all happened right under our noses what is going on now. You can believe what you chose about us but our conscience is clear. Now we are going to go on living our live and I hope you do the same. Thanks to us the club can see a new bar in the future! We loved the patrons and what we accomplished to make the club a success. We wouldnāt dreamed
Of doing what we weāre accused of doing contrary to what some of you believe.
P.S. while I was at the club a $400,000 lot was paid for in two years. When I left there was over $200,000 in the bank. We paid cash for items purchased for over $50,000 so the new regime
Couldnāt steal it. The last year I worked the small games profited $100,000. $60,000
Went to charity and $40,000 went to the club.
How many places in Schuylkill county are that successful? R.M. Since we left I hope you can sleep now without worrying about what Pete and I are doing and how we do it!
