Juvenile Arrested in Threat Made Against School

On May 8, 2026, the Schenectady Police Department was made aware of a social media post directed at the Schenectady City School District Freshman Academy, located at 880 Oakwood
Ave.

The message, which was posted on Instagram, threatened a shooting at the school.

During the course of the investigation, officers identified and located a suspect. The suspect, who is a juvenile, has been charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a Class D Felony.

Due to the age of the suspect, no further information will be released at this time.
