We have seen the DMs, the comments, the posts, and all the rumors flying around, so we wanted to give you the full story.
Here is what happened.
The previous owner made the difficult personal decision to close her doors in February. We truly wish her nothing but the best.
After that, a new team stepped in, fell completely in love with this place, worked through a new lease, and purchased the Totally Awesome Bar name.
Same bar. New chapter. Same totally weird little basement magic. 🕹️✨
So who are we?
We are led by an operator who has owned and run some of Savannah’s most loved bars, restaurants, and venues for over a decade. We know this city. We know what makes a great bar. And we know Totally Awesome Bar is not just another place to grab a drink.
It is one of one.
Now, to everyone saying we are going to change everything, please take a deep breath. We would NEVER. 😤❤️
✅ Pool tables are staying
✅ The games are staying
✅ Open mic, karaoke, and all your favorite programming are staying
✅ The strange, nostalgic, beautiful TAB energy is absolutely staying
What we are doing is giving this gem the refresh she deserves. New bathrooms, new stairs, a new stage, a new DJ booth, moving some things around, plus a full sound and lighting upgrade.
The vibe you love is not going anywhere. We are just making it louder, brighter, safer, cleaner, and even more awesome. 🎤🎶🚀
Right now, we are working on city and state licensing for a new entity, as well as contractors and new equipment. Paperwork is not exactly totally awesome, but here we are. 🙃
We are moving as fast as we can, and we promise we will keep you updated.
And to the former staff, this one is for you.
We are not looking to replace you.
We want YOU back.
