For decades, Sean and his incredible team have been true pillars of support for the Sausalito Police Department and our community. From generously feeding the homeless during outreach events, to nourishing our staff during critical incidents, and graciously hosting our holiday celebrations every year—Sean has been there for us, always with a kind heart and a helping hand.

Sean has not only been a steadfast supporter but also a cherished friend to both current and former Sausalito officers. His commitment to serving others embodies the spirit of Sausalito, and we are endlessly grateful for his friendship and humanitarian efforts.

The loss Sausalito feels is profound as we bid farewell to one of our most beloved restaurants, Saylor's. Tonight, the Sausalito City Council honored Sean and Sonja Saylor and their family with a heartfelt proclamation, celebrating the incredible contributions their family-owned restaurant has made to our community.

Saylor's was more than a restaurant—it was a gathering place that held the stories of our lives. It was where we met before city council meetings, toasted milestones, and remembered loved ones who had passed. No matter the occasion, Sean, Sonja, and their dedicated staff created an atmosphere that felt like home, welcoming residents and visitors alike with warmth and kindness.

Their greatest gift was the way they brought us together. Saylor's wasn’t just about the delicious food; it was about connection, shared laughter, and the comfort of knowing you were among friends.

Though we will miss Sean, Sonja, and the entire Saylor's team dearly, we are thrilled to announce that they will serve as the Grand Marshals of Sausalito’s 4th of July Parade in 2025. It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their impact and show our appreciation for all they’ve given to this community.

Thank you, Sean and Sonja, for the memories, the meals, and the magic. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone you brought together over the years.

My peeps…….

What a long, great trip it’s been.

After having a minute to breathe, I can now reflect.
Reflect on the past 26 years.
When preparing to open our first restaurant, I had an idea of what I wanted to do. That being said, I had NO idea of what it would become.
The, “Cheers” of Sausalito.
I knew, but I didn’t know.
This past week has made it abundantly clear that is exactly how people felt.
It is quite humbling.
The Sausalito community has been so very good to us.
The love that was shown to us this past week, and these past 26 years, was simply overwhelming and unconditional.
Our hearts are full.
To see our peeps come in, enjoy, laugh, and leave happy……..
That was worth everything.

I don’t know what the next chapter will bring, but I want you all to know that I hope that it can live up to these past 26 years.
We are ready.
Thank you to all of our mentors along the way.
Our staff.
Our fans.
Our friends.
Our family.
Our community.

Fans, friends, family….

Saylor’s Restaurant is closing Saturday, November 16th.

As many of you know, we have been trying to sell the business and the building for a while. COVID made us realize that life is short and if we wanted to check off more boxes on our bucket list we need to get started. Serving and supporting the Sausalito community for the last 26 years has been great fun and completely rewarding. We are proud, blessed and forever grateful for your longtime support and to have been referred to as the "Cheers” of Sausalito.

We would also like to take a moment to acknowledge our incredible staff, many who have been with us for over a decade. We mean it from the bottom of our hearts when we say "We could not have asked for better people to have shared this restaurant journey with us”.

Change is hard, and we will miss welcoming the familiar faces we have come to know and serve over the last 20 years. Be assured, that the people and good times we have experienced will be remembered in the stories we tell while sipping tequila.
