We want to try something new here at The Hideaway. We’re not entirely sure what it will become yet, but we know where we want to start.

We’d like to introduce you to…

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐒

The idea is pretty simple: use the platform we have to help people in our community.

Whether that means helping raise money, collecting needed items, bringing attention to a great cause, or simply connecting people who can help one another, we want to do our part.

And we’ve found our first partnership.

𝙎𝙊𝙁𝙏𝘽𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝙂𝙀𝘼𝙍 𝘿𝙍𝙄𝙑𝙀 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙍𝙄𝙎𝙀 𝙃𝙊𝙐𝙎𝙄𝙉𝙂 & 𝙎𝙐𝙋𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏 𝙎𝙀𝙍𝙑𝙄𝘾𝙀𝙎

Softball has always been a part of life for a lot of us here at The Hideaway. Some played competitively, some played in school, and some of us eventually graduated to the highly prestigious world of local beer-league softball.

And if you’re anything like me, somewhere in your garage, basement, or closet is a collection of gloves, bats, cleats, softballs, and other equipment that hasn't seen a field in quite some time.

During our recent Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce mixer, I had the pleasure of meeting Brittany from RISE Housing and Support Services. We talked about softball, and she mentioned that RISE is launching a league and looking for donated equipment.

That got us thinking: why not use our platform to help?

I’ll be starting things off by donating my entire softball bag, two bats, a left-handed glove, cleats, batting gloves, and probably a few softballs hiding somewhere in there too.

Now we’re asking all of you to take a look around.

If you have usable softball equipment collecting dust and would like to give it a new life, you can donate directly using the information on the flyer below, or bring it to us here at The Hideaway. We’ll collect everything and make one big donation to RISE at a future date.

No donation is too small. A glove, a bat, a few softballs, it all adds up.

This is our first go at The Hideaway Cares, and hopefully it’s just the beginning.

We have an incredible community around us. Let's see what we can do when we put it to work for something good.

How's everyone feeling?
We are feeling great here at the Hideaway!

It's been a week here at the Hideaway; we've had tournament after tournament, and we wouldn't change it for anything. We enjoy giving these great organizations a place to celebrate and raise money for their causes. Today, we're happy to have the Ronald McDonald House here on the course. If you or your organization would like to work with us on a fundraising effort, please don't hesitate to message us. We have a few options to help raise money for the right cause.

We also want to make sure all of you non-golfers know we are still open for business and will have seating throughout the day. The parking lot may be a little full, but you're still welcome to come in and enjoy lunch, dinner, and the smiling faces of our staff.

Thank you to my wonderful staff at the Hideaway. I hope you all know how much I appreciate you all everyday, but a special thank you for letting me slip away for special birthday weekend for my wife.

We were lucky enough to catch one of shows at MSG. Here’s a couple videos we snapped, if you are interested in checking them out.

But, the weekend is over, and now time for me to get back to work!

Golf season may be winding down… but we’re not done having fun yet!

We have TWO great fall tournaments coming up at Saratoga Lake Golf Club, and registration is open!

🍺 TAPS & TEES — Sunday, September 27th
Part golf tournament, part craft beer tasting. We’ll have 9+ great breweries stationed throughout the course pouring samples, handing out swag, and making an already fun round of golf even better. Lunch and post-round dinner are included!

🎃 HALLOWEEN BIG HOLE TOURNAMENT — Saturday, October 24th
Big holes. Costumes. Golf. Prizes. Lunch. Dinner. Party. What more do you need?

And we’re tossing around the idea of bringing back the post-round bonfire for Halloween this year. Let us know in the comments if we should make it happen!

Well, after a doozy of a week, here it is: our newest comic. The “Richard Smith Situation” title may be a spoiler for what this comic is about, but it will provide some insight into the behind-the-scenes of our viral reel from last week.

It was fun, got a lot of views, and made for some interesting conversations.

We are open today until 9pm. Be sure to stop in for a bite to eat ($10 wings until close) and enjoy a cold beer while enjoying the view of the golf course. It's a beautiful day out there!

We wanted to share this because we had fun making it the other day. So, if you missed our reel, we were trying to get ahead of the craze of preparing for Myspace to make its triumphant comeback (there are rumors).

Myspace was the best; sorry for the kids who weren't around for the beginning of social media. Or as we say, during a better time.

Who out there remembers Myspace?

Unfortunately, we don't believe it is up and running yet, and we couldn't get in to check out our old profile, so we built this one using Canva. It was a fun walk down memory lane. We have hidden some fun little Easter eggs in this version, but unfortunately it is not real (but not AI either, so don't be jumping on me). What are we missing on our homepage?

Hey everyone, it’s Tim again…
Iknow what you’re thinking: here we go again.

No, I don’t have another letter to humankind. No, I’m not firing myself again. And I’m definitely not making another post trying to convince you that someone walked out on their tab.

This one, to me, is a little more important.

Sorry it’s late, but I have a few words I’d like to share about today’s event and these photos, and I thought they might mean a little more coming from a person rather than from a business.

Today, we held our official ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. These events are always a great opportunity to mingle, talk about the business, shake some hands, kiss some babies… all that fun stuff.

We were incredibly happy and honored to have everyone come out and celebrate with us. A special thank you to Senator Jim Tedisco for attending and for all of his kind words.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of ribbon cuttings at other locations over the years, and they’re always a great time. But, for what are probably obvious reasons, this one felt a little different to me.

Here’s the thing, though… I never wanted today to be about me.

I wanted it to be about the amazing people standing beside me in these photos, and the countless others who couldn’t make it today.

We have a great staff.

We have a great staff today.
We had a great staff in February when we officially “opened.”
And yes, we had a great staff before we took over in February.

The Hideaway wasn’t built by one person, two, or even three people. What you see here today has been built by a hard working team over the years, with a lot of different people leaving their fingerprints on this place along the way. Some good, some bad… but mostly good.

And I don’t say this lightly, these folks truly are some of the most amazing people I know. I’d run through a wall for them, and I genuinely believe they’d do the same for me.

There’s just something different about this team now. It’s a feeling I haven’t experienced with any other group I’ve worked alongside in the restaurant business. We work hard. Yes, we drive each other crazy sometimes, but that’s the fun part. We laugh… a lot. Yes, make mistakes, but we always try to learn from them. And when it matters, we show up for each other.

So when I look at these photos, that’s what I see.

Not me as an owner.
Not just a ribbon.
Not even a ceremony.

I see our team. Period

And I couldn’t be more excited to see where we can take this little restaurant in the years ahead.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. We’re just getting started.

We’re excited to offer another delicious menu this evening created by Chef Adrienne!

It’s Italian Night at The Hideaway — but this week, we’re adding a little seafood twist.

Join us tonight and enjoy any (or all… we won’t judge) of these great options.

As always, Chef Adrienne will be making her way around the dining room throughout the evening, checking in with guests and answering any questions you may have about the dishes. It’s a great opportunity to not only enjoy some incredible food, but also hear directly from the chef who created it.
