✨Storytime✨

Last night we had the pleasure to host a wonderful group at Siegfrieds including Mia, 93, who was a long term bartender at the old Heidelberg castle.
It was such a delight meeting her and listening to her stories from the old days.
This is one of the reasons we love being here and being part of this great community. At the end of the day Sarasota is such a small town with so much personality and history and we are grateful to be a part of that.
She brought us this photo as a gift and we’re proud to display it with the other newspaper articles we’ve got from our friends Rosi&family from the old Heidelberg.

Dear guests,
Due to so many questions we get everyday we wanted to give you an update on the situation.

Last night we as business owners had the opportunity to listen to representatives of Kimley-Horn which is a local design and engineering consulting firm that represented the Bristol development group that is trying to buy the whole lot and demolish 22 parcels of our historic downtown 1920s-1930s cottages and small local businesses for 324 apartments!

We came there to get answers on timeline and situation but we still do NOT have more specific answers for you other than THE PROPERTY HAS NOT BEEN SOLD YET AND THIS YEAR NO CONSTRUCTION WILL START.
What happens if it really goes through?
We don’t know about the exact timeline.

All we know is we are here to serve you and we are grateful for each and everyone of you and we will continue doing this until the very last day and still hope that if this really happens it will take some time.
In the meantime there is a petition out there you can sign if you like ❤️
