Some memories return as vividly as the wines themselves. . 🍷

I often find myself thinking back to the quiet of Casa Grazia’s cellar 🇮🇹 , where I was invited to taste their Moscato Bianco straight from the barrel. Before the bottle, before the label, before it would ever grace a table, it was simply a wine in the company of time. . 🍇

Standing among the barrels, I remember how still everything felt. The cellar seemed to ask for patience, reminding me that the most beautiful things are rarely hurried. Even then, delicate florals, bright citrus, and a graceful minerality were beginning to emerge—offering only a glimpse of what the wine would one day become.

It remains one of those moments that quietly stays with me.

A reminder that every remarkable bottle begins long before the cork is pulled, and that time is often the most remarkable winemaker of all. 🍷

Some of my earliest memories begin where so many Italian stories do—among the vineyards.

At four years old, I believed grape harvest was simply another excuse for laughter. Bare feet stained purple from stomping grapes, hands reaching for one more cluster from the vine, and the comforting certainty that, by evening, everyone would find their place around one long family table. . 🍇

Only later did I understand that the wine was never just about what filled the glass.

It was about preserving a season, honoring the hands that came before us, and gathering the people who mattered most. ♥️

Perhaps that is the enduring beauty of Italy—that its finest traditions are measured not only in exceptional wines, but in the memories made around the table they were always meant to accompany.

Congratulations to our friends at Casa Grazia on the 92-point Falstaff recognition for their 2023 Victorya 1607 Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG — a wine that beautifully reflects the character of Sicily, where Frappato and Nero d’Avola come together in remarkable harmony.
