Cead Mile Failte - A hundred thousand welcomes - is the greeting of us two sisters: Chris and Ethna, to you, our patrons. We were born and raised in County Cork, Ireland. We came to the United States in 1972. We moved to Hawaii in 1974. We have lived and worked on Longboat Key since 1982. We drove to Florida from Boston and stopped in Clearwater for breakfast. Someone suggested we come to Sarasota

. As soon as we got here we knew this was the place for us. Having worked in restaurants all of our adult lives, we felt the time was right for us to open a place of our own. We opened Lynches Landing on Longboat Key in December 1986 and closed it in May 2003 after 17 very successful years. We decided to bring the real spirit of Ireland to St. Armands Circle by serving great food in a friendly neighbourhood pub atmosphere. We opened Lynches Pub & Grub in February 2003.

Some customers are just so demanding! This little fellow walked right in and demanded a pint of Guinness! He waved his pinchers in a threatening manner when we tried to explain that we aren’t reopened quite yet (hopefully this Friday).
We are used to snowbirds returning at this time of the year, but all of these hurricanes have brought a whole new type of clientele… 🤣🦀

Our reopening from Hurricane Helene may only have lasted six days, but we appreciate everyone who stopped by to support us and our team. We are as prepared as we can be for Hurricane Milton. We are nervous about what we will return to, and what condition our community will be in. Please stay safe out there.
