Aerated compost teas are the latest in scientific organic research today. In many ways, aerated teas offer greater immediate benefits than classic compost, manure, or other homemade foliar teas. Instead of just brewing teas for quick valuable water soluble nutrients from the compost or manure, you can breed a larger population of beneficial aerobic bacteria and fungi in the tea. It is the microher

d in our soil, compost, and teas, that is really more important in soil development and disease control than just the soluble nutrients. Aerobic microherd populations reduce offensive smells in compost piles, the compost teas, and the soil. Aerobic microherds also break down bad poisons and pathogens into safe nutrients in hot compost piles and aerated compost teas. Diluted anaerobic compost or manure teas are great liquid fertilizers and disease controllers also. Many people prefer the anaerobic teas better because they are simpler and easier to design and apply. However, recent research has proven that the aerobic teas fight diseases and bad soil more efficiently. Keep in mind that all types of organic and natural foliar teas are designed to complement and enhance, not replace, basic composting, green manuring, and organic mulching techniques in your garden.

-Increase biological activity of your soil
-Improve water retention/decrease need to water as frequently
-Reduce damage from pests on roots and foliage
-Reduce amount of fertilizers
-Reduce amount of stress on plants allowing for unhindered growth; allowing: larger yields, more aromatic plants, sweeter tastes, additional nutritional value
-Can be added to compost piles to stimulate bacterial activity speeding up finish time

************************************************************

Aerated teas can also be used to greatly speed up the decomposition process of hot compost piles. The extra aerobic microbes in the tea will breed and cooperate with the aerobic microbes in the organic matter in the compost pile. If you soil drench only, it takes at least 15 gallons of tea, before diluting, to cover an acre of garden soil. Also there is enough aerobic bacteria and fungi in a good 5 gallon batch of aerated tea, that is the equivalent of about 10 TONS or 40 cubic yards of regular compost! These aerated compost teas are just as powerful, maybe more powerful, than any commercial natural or organic fertilizer or soil amendment on the market today. So have fun, be creative, and keep on composting! nnnnnnnnnnnnnWhat is different about us? Well I'll tell you ! Our tea is brewed using a base of worm castings. Worm castings are biologically and chemically different from compost or soil. Worm castings have much higher percentages of humus than either soil or compost, which helps the castings hold more water and stay aerated, while also providing binding sites for micronutrients that would otherwise wash out of soil during heavy rains. The castings are also chock full of plant growth promoters like cytokinins and auxins, along with increased levels of micronutrients like calcium, magnesium, and sulfur. Worm castings also host TEn TO TWENTY TIMES as much microorganism activity as plain soil. No wonder a study showed that worm castings produced bigger blueberry plants and higher fruit yields compared to blueberries treated with either cow manure or chemical fertilizers. EVERY batch of compost tea contains organic items, and each is guaranteed to add billions of new beneficial micro-organisms to your soil and plants so that you may be the best gardener you can be. : )

Honestly, it was so much more than just a convention. 🌱

I spent the best time soaking up the workshops and just completely nerding out about plants/soil science with some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. The whole culture there was just so vibrant and welcoming

it’s rare to find a space that feels that inclusive and high-energy all at once.

Of course, WormFolk couldn’t leave empty-handed. Let’s just say our “plant family” grew significantly today... we added a lot of carnivorous plants to the collection! 🦟🚫 My inner swamp-parent is very, very happy.

Such a solid weekend for the soul (and the garden). Already looking forward to the next one! 🌿☁️

The future is in the soil, and it’s beautiful. 🌻 I’m thrilled to be with .and.sky.art all week, sharing the magic of soil science and regenerative agriculture with the next generation!

I’m diving deep into soil structure and the life-giving connection between its organic and inorganic components; teaching foundational knowledge to after-school groups, field trips, and homeschoolers. We are truly building knowledge from the ground up.
But this is more than just a class! This whole effort culminates in a full-on creative project. Furthermore, adding to the weekend:

JOIN US! This Saturday, October 25th for the LAND+SKY pop-up exhibition and concert (10:00 AM - 5:30 PM PDT).

A wholesome day of learning and community awaits:
• Explore our beautiful, brand-new art set installations.
• Catch my regenerative farming seminar.
• Enjoy a lovely concert to wrap up the evening!
Everyone is invited!

Tickets are available now. Find the link to grab yours in our bio!
