Learn how to make fermented, gut friendly unleavened bread the way our ancestors used to make bread.
This is a fast paced, “hands on” class. Each person receives pre-proofed ready to work with dough so you can have hands on experience of shaping & scoring the dough.
You will also mix your own dough in class and you will be guided through the “stretch & fold” phases. The dough you make in class goes home with you and after a bit of time fermenting at room temperature, and then cold fermenting in your refrigerator, you will bake your dough the next day in your oven.
Sourdough is EASY! However, because it is a naturally fermented bread, there are a lot of steps. Gaining hands on experience helps reduce frustration and sets you up for success!
In the class you will receive supplies to take home with you - 100g of mature organic sourdough starter for your future bakes, a shaping container with cheesecloth, food covers, scoring tool, dough that you make in class and a
32-page manual filled with tips & tricks to help you return home with confidence in the 10 Steps of Traditional Sourdough Bread making.
You do not need to bring anything to the class except your willingness to learn in a beautiful and fun filled environment.
Once you learn sourdough, it will open you up to a world of new culinary creations. Sourdough Biscuits, Sourdough Gravy, Sourdough Pizza Crust, Sourdough Crackers, Sourdough Pasta, Sourdough Naan, Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls, Sourdough Cookies….the opportunities are endless! And because all of these items are fermented, we can feel better about eating them due to the increase in pre/pro/post biotics and also because the gluten proteins, that often create digestive issues, are broken down through the fermentation process making Sourdough easier to digest.
