Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up! 中秋節! 🥮

It's when we gather with family, thankful for the harvest, and pray for future good fortune and health.

Mooncakes, when cut in half, reveal a bright round salted egg yolk, which symbolizes the brightest moon of the year. 🌝

Did you know? According to ancient Chinese tradition, this mid-autumn date was chosen to celebrate the harvest of crops and to share the surplus with friends and family. 💸

In collaboration with Koi Palace our 2026 collection: the Eight Immortals gift box with nine flavors, from dual egg yolk lotus paste to ya shi xiang oolong, and the Koi Fish Lantern Box, four double-yolk lotus and four mini red bean, in a box that lights up when the mooncakes are gone. In store while they last.

Did you know Mid-Autumn is when the moon shines golden like a salted egg yolk? The full moon in September represents family reunion and harmony, the whole family back at one table. This year in celebration, we have good food, good music, and lanterns to light after dinner. This is our way of sharing culture through a small box.

Mooncakes are back Saturday, August 29.

Eight Immortals Welcome the Moon, the blue box. Nine pieces: Double-Yolk White Lotus Paste, Lava Custard, Osmanthus Phoenix Pastry, Five Black, Pandan Coconut Lava, Longjing Tea Lava, Aged Tangerine Peel, Ya Shi Xiang Tea, Flaky Lychee Rose. There is a wind-up music box built into the packaging.

DIY Koi Lantern, the red one. Eight pieces: four Double-Yolk White Lotus Paste and four Mini Red Bean. The box folds into a koi lantern that lights up, so it stays on the table long after the mooncakes are gone.

Both boxes are $68 in store. Come see us at 48 Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo, or order on DoorDash. Through September 25, while supplies last.

This is a staple for us back home, but for those who don't know- This is Three Stuffed Treasures, or 煎釀三寶. A common street food to have the perfect bite of protein and vegetables.

The eggplant turns creamy, the pepper stays crunchy, paired with a juicy umami mushroom. All with a ball of shrimp wrapped in wok hei.

We highly recommend you try this for yourself!

粥粉麵飯. Congee, rice noodles, egg noodles, rice. In the early 1950s in Hong Kong, those four characters on a dai pai d**g banner (literally "big license stall," Hong Kong's street-side eateries) promised every staple that mattered. The roaring wok hei (breath of the wok) and comforting dishes became a staple of Hong Kong culture. Palette is our way of teaching the next generation the culture of where we came from, through delicious food. 🥢
