We are hurting. Our Community is hurting. Our community and team, who have already been on edge due to a virus which has cracked our foundational need of safety and security followed by an economic and unemployment crisis that has further eroded that foundation. Beyond this, a blatant display of the systemic racism that continues to plague our nation; the most recent senseless murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands of those who had sworn to protect them..
While these issues ravaging our community are independent of one another, and each deserving of their own attention, we can't help but feel that we have reached a breaking point..
We have just been delivered the final blow, so to speak, of ineffective leadership and cruel policymaking aimed at stripping away at the freedom and rights of those in their charge..
We need action. We need accountability for those in power. We need change..
From the bottom of our hearts, we hear you. We see you. We stand with you against racism and injustice..
In solidarity with our community, from this moment through Friday June 7th, we are . Know that we will still be here to support our community in the way we know how; enriching food, human kindness, and a safe space for all..
