The owner of the San Francisco house connected with the gruesome murder of a gay man in 2018 was a no-show at a city hearing Thursday morning, resulting in an abatement being issued against the property. As the Bay Area Reporter previously reported, the building at 228 Clara Street in the South of Market neighborhood has been a magnet for squatters, graffiti, and trash for years.
Brian Egg, 65, had lived in the house since the 1970s. His rotting torso was found secreted in a fish tank in the home in August 2018. Two suspects were initially arrested in connection with his murder but were never charged. The case remains unsolved.
