It’s a strange feeling to wrap all this up. Just like live performance, once it’s gone it only exists in the memories of those who experienced it.

After 15 years, 6 stages in 3 venues across 2 cities that hosted over 7,500 performances featuring 15,000 artists, PianoFight completed its final load out and cracked its last beers today.

Thanks to everyone who laughed, sang, produced, performed, donated, invested, and built this community for so many years. We are eternally grateful to have had this opportunity in our lives.

PianoFight Garage Sale! Everything Must Go!

Between 11a-3p, Tues-Thurs, April 25-27, PianoFight is selling off any remaining gear and infrastructure - seating, risers, lighting and sound equipment, projectors, screens, cables, mics, kitchen equipment, glassware, plates, utensils, and ridiculous props and costumes that have somehow not already been thrown away.

Credit Card payments preferred. Cash and check also accepted.

DiscoMovil Salazar is a Dj Collective that started in Mexico City in 1985 and emigrated to SF in early 2000s to provide the San Francisco Music Scene la maquina del sabor (The flavor machine).
DiscoMovil Salazar specializes in the Mexico City Style of street djaying known as Sonidero. Sonideros are known for playing hard to find jams from all over Latin America.

Shredded gnar and sultry croon, Californicorns will be sweating on stage one last time before PianoFight closes it doors. \m/

Californicorns, aka the best band of the worst year (SF Weekly's Best Band of 2020) return to PianoFight for one last Big Sweaty PianoFight Dance Party.
Joined by Polly Amber Ross and her friends who will open the show with a fabulous drag experience in honor of Polly's birthday, Californicorns take the stage immediately following with some surprise guests of their own.

The R.O.S.S. Drag Family is partnering with San Francisco's own Fort Point Brewery for SF Beer Week to bring you the most sensational drag show on the Beer Week calendar!

We might be closing but there’s still some magic within these walls. and got engaged tonight!

Molly was here at our Grand Opening in 2015 (pic 2) back when she didn’t even do comedy. Tonight, after performing as part of she went into the main stage to find her bf Rob.

It was cleared out, the work lights were on, and Rob brought her on the stage and dropped to one knee - and right then our tech Zef (who couldn’t see what was happening) yelled “Going dark!” and killed the lights.

They described the moment as “perfect.” BIG CONGRATS to the happy couple. And hope to see you at PF before March 18 - ya never know what’s gonna happen.

The History of PianoFight

PIANOFIGHT was formed by Rob Ready, Dan Williams and Kevin Fink in 2007. After completing a $1.2 million fundraising campaign, 10% of which was crowd-funded through the largest Theater Kickstarter for a New Live Performance Venue ever, PianoFight has completed its home at 144 Taylor Street in San Francisco. Since its inception, PianoFight has successfully managed venues (Off-Market Theater Complex); created the largest audience-judged playwriting competition in the country (ShortLived); instigated a fully-scripted, choose-your-own-ending play series (FORKING!); recklessly invited audiences to Throw Rotten Veggies at the Actors Nights; formed two critically acclaimed sketch comedy groups (Mission CTRL and Chardonnay); toured the coast of California (Endless Weekend Tour I & II); created a surf rock band (Das Haus Band) and a soul band (PianoFight Music Department); launched a film department that retains corporate and artistic clients; and built a three-man producing team into a 48-member company of artists while staying true to its mission of producing New Work by New Artists ™. We’ve also consumed vast oceans of beer and have had one hell of a time in the process. PianoFight is committed to making 144 Taylor St. San Francisco’s next landmark entertainment venue.
